OK. Since we depleted the topic pretty much, I'm leaving it under soft lock.

Currently playing with this loadout. Haven't been to Pripyat yet, so I don't have the tier 3 mod yet. Suit CHN-3a Battle Armour and Tactical Helmet - don't know all the mods I've put on them. But the suit's lighter, has a 2nd arti slot and some other protective capabilities the helmets upgrades with Psi/Chem and Rad protection and the 2nd gen NV. Weapons [none of them are modded for rof unless necessary for other mods.] Primary Storm [for human enemies] - PSO scope, suppressor and modded with extended mag, and accuracy and recoil mainly. Lynx [currently used for fun snipes] - modded for scope, endurance, recoil and accaracy Secondary Predator/Eliminator [for mutant pests] modded with accaracy, recoil and in the Eliminator's case the full auto mod. Viper 5 [as a full auto Honerary PMm]- modded with suppressor, extended mag, recoil and accaracy. [if I had the money and ammo for it, it'd be the Frasier/Cutter] And just for badassity the unmodded Honerary PMm As far as the artifacts go, I switched them to fit the situation and here's a lit of arti's I use. Wrenched Goldfish [used the most] Moonlight Eye Snowflake Firefly Meat Chunk Fireball Flash Also, the Svarog takes all the fun out of artifact hunting...

It sure does. Same as a certain gun making all other guns peashooters.

If it's the Storm you're talking about I wouldn't know about that, haven't used any other assault rifles other than the AKm 74/2U and Akm-74/2. But the Storm's deffinetely better than both.

There's a mission which gives you Strelok's SGI-5k, it's a very fine weapon I'd say best assault rifle in the game.
The gun I'm talking about you'll get it in Pripyat, it's very over powered.

Well yeah, but I never even use it.
Currently running a combo of a Bulat and Sphere-12M, with two artifact slots for a Bubble and Goldfish for a total of 72kg capacity.
Combine that with a fully modded SVU-A2 from Nimble and rof-modded Storm.
IMO Storm is still better than Strelok's SG 550, even though the latter is a bit more accurate. Storm hits nearly as hard with the much more plentiful 5.45mm ammo, and with a much, much higher rate of fire.
Gauss rifle IMO isn't overpowered at all. It's one of the most reasonable weapons in the game because you can actually take out a mutant with a single goddamn shot to the head for once, as opposed to any other gun.

hmmm, i havent gotten the gauss yet, so no opinion on that. otherwise my most used gun is the eliminator, although i chose not to put the full auto upgrade on it, id rather click a few times then chew through all 12shots and then run circles while reloading as the muties are munching on me. but thats just for those times when im either indoors or i get surprised by something... like when i sprint around the zone i have the eliminator out... my other slot is either the vintorez from nimble or one of the .45 hand guns for artifact hunting... i really liked the svd, but unless youre going after humans or zombies its not very effective, except at very long range (where you can wait for the bloodsucker to stop running around so you can put another round into it) out of the assault rifles i carry the 301 will all attachments just to have something that can toss grenades out there, used to carry the tunder as well, but it was never used so i dumped it... for artifacts i pretty much always have a bubble equipped, and the other slot/s is more bubbles or firefly... rarely compass or battery for getting places faster... suit modded for +2en reg, helmet with +4en reg, battery and a stalker drink gets me pretty much diagonally across the whole map with full energy when i get there, me like anybody know how the favorite weapon in the statistics window is figured out? for some reason my was showing an ak, and i didnt use any of the aks past like 2nd or 3rd day in the zone... just recently it finally switched to show eliminator as my fav(around day 23 or so)

Scrounged up enough money for a Frasier/Cutter from Nimble... hmmm not really worth it inho, but then again, it's not really fair to compare it to assaultrifles...
Right now I've got a fully modded Sphere helmet and Bulat suit and working on the upgrades for the SEVA to get to Pripyat underground by selling arti's to beard and weapons to Owl.
The shotgun that I used was the Carabiner [SPSA], not the Predator [Chaser]. Using the Predator now, it's a beast, more so when modded, but that the whole point of modding it. Still using the Storm though I occasionally switch it with the unique GP37 from Nimble. Now really sure which I like better now - but it makes for decent'ish stand in sniper on single shot firing mode.
Also, why is Nimble's Eliminator no different in stats than a regular Eliminator?

It the same weapon you just paid Nimbel to get it.

I'd say they gave Nimble one so that you could get hold of one earlier in the game. The SEVA suit you buy from him is no different and neither is the exo.

Nimble sells a few pieces that are not uniques... eliminator, gp37, ft-200m and i believe all suits are items you can get elsewhere...
that was my biggest reason for not getting an assault rifle from him, just didnt seem worth spending that much on something ill get offa zombie later on for free... aside from the fact that i very very rarely use assault rifles at all.
is it just me or are handguns completely useless in CoP? i have never EVER been attacked while in the middle of an anomaly field. and at any time when i dont have the detector out one of the other weapons provides a better option. i do carry a couple of guns just in case though, havent been to pripyat yet, dunno whatll happen there, but so far handguns seem a waste of bagspace.
would be nice if we could have something like uzi or mac9/10 or some other mini smgs to replace handguns alltogether imo.

and i believe all suits are items you can get elsewhere... That Clear Sky armour isn't obtainable elsewhere in the game as far as I know. Which still is an awesome suit for that most part of the game. The only assault rifle worth getting (though getting isn't really easy as you have no idea what rifle you're getting when ordering one I was just lucky get it on my first order) is the Storm imho for a couple of reasons: truck loades of ammo (especially with zombies roaming about), dmg and mag size (modded and unmodded) compared to the Tunder (however, Owl has a steady supply of 9x39 mm ammo and with mutie hunter cheevo it'll be dropped off at your gear box in Yanov). And pistols are rather useless since you can put any weapon in the gun slots. Only time I was attacked in an anomaly field was underneath that weird tree with Joker's bones nearby. And even then it was hardly worth using a pistol since the anomalies took care of most of the doggies the rest got buckshot. I like the idea of a machine pistols. I'd've liked to see a Skorpion... EDIT: Apparently the Tunder does more dmg than the Storm according to ingame stats
