Back Story: Ex-U.S. Army Special Forces, Sgt. Mitchell was sent to the Zone in a failed reconnaissance gathering mission. His unit of ten personal was ordered to covertly infiltrate the Chernobyl Zone; gather intelligence and, if possible, any so-called artifacts for study by U.S. scientist. The mission failed, however, when the team's UH-60 Black Hawk was brought down by an unknown gravitation anomaly (Whirligig.) Both pilots and eight soldiers were kill initially, a ninth died due to injuries. Mitchell's team is listed as MIA and presumed dead. Although most of combat gear (rifle, sidearm, grenades, etc) didn't survive the crash, he still has his combat knife, canteen, and skills from survival training. Sgt. Mitchell now tries to forget the incident and make due with what he has in order to survive the horrors of the Zone.
