It's damn good for it's age. It's sort of stealth/fps/rpg? Anyone have a better way of describing it?

True...Look what you've made me do. If you've installed DX, then getting a copy of the DX TC mod, The Nameless Mod is a good idea. thenamelessmod.comNot me. I never uninstall it. ;D Same here. DX has been a permanent fixture on my systems since getting a copy of it in late 2004. Since DX is an Unreal Engine 1 game, there's no need to reinstall it each time you do an OS reinstall, if you installed the game on a drive/partition other than the OS boot partition. As for what other computer/console games I play... PC: Morrowind, Oblivion, Neverwinter Nights, Unreal, Unreal Tournament, UT2003, UT2004, Deus Ex, The Nameless Mod, TrackMania Forever (both United and Nations), GTA III, GTA Vice City, Need for Speed Undderground 2, and Need for Speed Most Wanted. Xbox: Morrowind, Project Gotham Racing 1 and 2, Destroy All Humans, GTA III, GTA Vice City, and The Simpsons Hit and Run. Jenifur Charne

Don't tar and feather me, but I just tried Deus Ex and didn't really enjoy it. Trying to get Carmageddon 2 to work on my computer again now.

I always thought this was the best NFS game.
I finished GTA 4 recently and hated it. Why is it so highly exalted? There is a game that's similar, that is much better, but people shit chickens when you say Saints Row 2 is better.

The only thing about it I don't really care about is the augmentations, I always forget to use them.

IMO the best NFS games were Pro Street 2 and Underground (the first one)

I know that there are some aspects of DX, especially at the start, that plainly suck, such as the way you can't hold aim on a target at all, despite your supposedly having graduated as a special agent from the UNATCO Academy. The lack of stashes for storing gear you don't have the capacity to immediately carry is not an issue, as the game doesn't wipe stuff that you haven't collected when you leave a level. However, the biggest failing of DX is the gaping plotholes of illogic you are forced through in its story. Jenifur Charne

IMO the best NFS games were Pro Street 2 and Underground (the first one) Why do you prefer NfS Underground over NfS Underground 2? The only thing I found easier with NfS Underground was not having to drive all over the city trying to find the race events. Fewer cars and less customizations in the earlier game is understandable. Not being able to drive in the city outside of the races was frustrating, till I learned that NSF Underground was track layout first then a cityscape environment added to the layout. NfS Underground 2 and later are environment first, then track layout made in the environment. What annoys me about STALKER SoC, NfS Underground 2, NfS Most Wanted, GTA III and GTA Vice City is how the entire gameworld is not open to you from the game start. Jenifur Charne

SoC is open. It's just not a good idea to explore some areas at the very start, CS restricting.
Pro Street 2? Do you mean Shift? Undercover was alright, made a lot better by the addition of the Bugatti Veyron, and the ability to lose police in 10 secs.

SoC is open. It's just not a good idea to explore some areas at the very start, CS restricting. I disagree with your claim that all the areas of SoC are accessible by The Marked One from the start. They are not. 1. the gate between Garbage and Rostok guarded by Duty. Closed until a specific part of the Agroprom docs mission is triggered. 2. the one-way gate between Dark Valley and Cordon. Is not opened by Sid until after the X18 docs mission is done. I agree though that for a rookie stalker there are definitely some areas that are best avoided until after gaining some experience and better weapons/armor. Jenifur Charne
