For everyone involved in the RP here that is not on Skype, this is the reason the RP has been inactive for a good while: As soon as we finish setting up the site to its full, we (myself, Basil, Zeno, Karc, BPM, and possibly Burnzz as well) will return to finish off the plots here. With the real ZSG resurrected and a new forum for it in the plans (or so it seems) by its original creators, I am not sure what I'll be doing with this place as of now. I'll be updating this place on progress with both projects, as well as my own decisions in what to keep running, and what to shut down.

A thought . . . perhaps keeping this site active for general BS might be alright? If dawnrazor does re-instate a ZSG forum, no doubt most of us would make the migration . . . but, all things considered, I highly doubt most of our typical antics would be permitted (at least, to the extent we carry them out) . . .
I'm not saying we should give the true ZSG the finger, but thinking more along the lines of leaving this site up for our Svabodaish trolololing.
Perhaps, though, the better idea would be to wait and see how things play out, eh?

I am not implying that we should be allowed or will continue our sort of behavior on the assumed future ZSG forums. In fact, we most likely will not continue them here either due to a series of circumstances that have developed over the past couple of months.
We've been leaking members like a Moskvich in the Zone would leak radioactive gasoline. The six or so regulars that remain on this site on a daily basis have retreated back to Skype. That is the reason this place is so dead nowadays.
Within four months in said conversation, we've achieved 1200 pages of conversation in MS word. Altogether, that's about 52,000 messages in total. Most likely, that's more than has been ever posted in Svoboda and the Bar on this site put together over its existence. Whereas only about sixty posts altogether have been made on this site over the past couple of months.
Needless to say, daily activity there by far outstrips that occurring here, and most of the memes that permeate this place find themselves being made there. Trololo levels are reaching critical even so, while activity here is dying down.
I'm not pulling the plug anytime soon, yet. There are still unfinished RPs to take care of, and that will take some time. But as soon as a new forum for the ZSG is instated, activity will most likely reach a low borderline enough for me to shut this place down.
Even as it is, the members here cannot keep up with the new ideas, stories, trolls, and memes that the hardcore regulars come up over IM. The forum is growing literally obsolete.

It's understandable, and it's been a progressive thing (not just here) with the ZSG boards since the old forums were first having their spouts of blowouts, and the main site having issues. I'm truly hoping that with the ZSG back up and running, that it will be the anchor to keep a board together . . .
We are who we are, though - the old comraderie will no doubt lead to our usual antics, no matter what site we all hail to . . . old habits die hard.
But, what I think has hurt the STALKER community as a whole (not just the ZSG crew), is long time users moving on leaving sites to be shut down and dissiminated - it has left only a small handful of sites for communities, and most of them being *more-or-less* localized sites (i.e. Polish, Russian, Japanese, etc.). The only "international" sites of note are(were) the ZSG and GSC's board. There's some modding boards, but they're as dead (if not more-so) than we are, or the community is more focused on one aspect of the game (i.e. modding). It's sad, but the other sites just aren't given enough exposure via search engines, etc. . . . and it's too be expected, too. I mean, user's who want to look something up for a game, and don't know where to go, will typically just google "blah game forums" - and if you google "stalker forums," your first hit is GSC, followed by STEAM and FileFront forums . . . and that's about it, and those are the most active boards.
Just not enough google exposure, lol. Blame it all on google!!

The ZSG was pretty active back in the day due to visitors coming from the actual GUIDE.
Now that Dawnrazor is working on a guide for CoP to supplement the ZSG, more people should flock to whatever forums he'll decide to set up, if he sets them up, that is.

Seeing as how EOTN has been scrapped despite its almost promising future. We should remove this and return our attention to increasing site activity here.
