sorry for the misleading subject... this post is about a mod i stumbled upon while browsing through filefronts' stalker CoP section. actually, i havent even downloaded said mod, but i found the description to be entertaining as hell, so ill past it in here... beware, its quite lengthy, im not including the link to this mod cuz im not sure if its allowed on this board. yeah yeah, i saw that checkbox too

This pig has been cleaned and the first stage of this mod is complete! What you get with this mod is a modular (when possible) rebalance of the core game, sounds fancy but is simple.
I have kept as many things optional as possible, if you would like something taken out but are unsure you can post on the thread and i can probably figure it out. Or ask in forum they know everything.

---Economy Re-Balance (is really a kick in the rubles!)
Dinner is served bitch! Our first dish for his azzole major is a refined economy re-balance. I have carefully taken large hammer and introduced this to the original game values.
Traders will not provide large profit for crap they already have. They don't need guns and they don't need bullets and they don't need his azzhole major complaining, you can sell stuffs of course but is not worth much.
Scavenging is not for profit, is what you do to survive. You should use these weapons you find on bodies to slow the detirioration of your favorite gun, use these untill is broken then throw away. If you do find weapon in decent condition you can sell it and get enought money for a few rations.
What? You want profit? You is supposed to be looking for helicopters not money! HELICOPTERS! Bah is no use all you think about is profit, you should have been salesman not helicopter hunter.
Well if profit is his goal then he should get busy with finding himself nasty artifacts! Yes this is why everyone is in the zone, for artifacts, not for crap gun his azzhole major wants to sell so bad. But mabye if he does jobs for
his beard and owl he will make some ru?
Why have i done this? Economy was never fair, i could sell 200 shotgun shells to a baby stalker and take his life savings yet he does not even own a shotgun! Now he is poor and can only throw shotgun shells at pig thing and hope he lives. This was not fair, azzhole major was getting very rich within 3-4 days of arriving in zone while stalkers who had been here for years are still idiot poor. Now you work for profit and use more stuffs you find.
---More Human! (running and breathing and crying like woman)
Previously his azzhole major was very good at running forever and taking bullets and abusing medkits and at not being very human in general. But no more, no more drinking sugar drink and gliding like humming bird.
And no more eating of 50 medkits while enemy stalker sitting constapating with his gun singing howdy ho.
-Health regeneration is severely gimped, it should now take several game days to return to full health. Nappings wont provide miracle healing either.
-Stamina is now more realistic but not game halting (gameplay before his realism). You will not regenerate stamina while jogging, you can run and sprint for decent distance (azzhole major is army man) but you must rest to get breath back. This leads to situations where you cannot just run away from big fat boar, screaming down hill all the way back to his beard. Is not about causing irritation to player, is not ridiculous but is something you have to manage.
-Medkits have been re-envisioned (more fancy term ha!). They now provide different purpose, now there is reason to use both blue and red and keep a yellow just incase you start starving or hit nasty radiation.
Red medpack is for prolonged healing of the body and pain management. Is slow and not good enought to keep you invicible during battle, is not Jesus box. It contain dangerous painkillers that cause drowsiness and impair movement. This is best used when safe out of combat but sometime you will have no choice. (secretly his azzhole major thinks these red mepack are fun)
Blue is for intense cobat situations. It contains adrenaline booster that will give small boost in health, is not alot but is enought to keep you fighting. Using this too much will cause hunger as it increases his azzhole major's metabolism. You will go through your rations very quickly if you rely on these too much.
Yellow kit is similiar to red in function but does not just contain meds, he is actually a proper survival kit. As well as painkillers it provides food rations, radiation treatment and bandages, is good incase you run out of something. You must be careful because you can suffer injury too severe to heal if you ignore. The player he should take care of his major.
I updated the item descriptions so if you have crap memory you can read and find out what they do again. You could read these every day!
---Knives, bullets and bam bam
His azzhole major will be pleased to find his bam bam is very nasty now. I did not touch gun parameters this way upgrading is not broken, what i did was scale the ammunition according to what i felt would be good challenge
There is now big gap in performance between armour-piercing and standard rounds, before i never really worried about it. Is not ridiculous, 9x18 fmj is still deadly and can headshot kill but will require more skill as an armoured target can soak a whole clip to the chest of these basic bullets. I am not big gun guru but did a bit of research and found things like for example the basic NATO round is considered not so effective. I would not consider my bit of reading hard facts but is good from gameplay perspective, i scaled bullets according to my readings and included this information in the ammunition descriptions so have a look at these.
Most bullets cause fatal wounding after 2 or 3 hits. With lower caliber bullets you will see the enemy can still fight for some time but will eventually fall due to blood loss, but something like a .45 APC Hydra round can kill instantly. Bullet placing is very important now, torso hits are deadly and head shots with small caliber must actually go for the brain not the jaw.
All guns are powerful so it is their functionality wich is more important now. As example sawn off shotgun is powerful but has only 2 shells. Against 5 dogs is not very good because you kill 2 dogs but there is still 3 very dangerous creatures left. If you are good you could kill these by quickly switching to side arm but is very dangerous.
Standard bullets have tracer removed and Armour pierce bullets have a tracer enabled. Now you tell between dangerous enemies and also see difference in your own bullets.

I have not done major AI overhaul, i found this cause errors in quests like stalkers not waiting for you to arrive and getting killed. But some people dont mind this so you can try various AI packs that are out there, if you have trouble with installing them mabye i can help you. If you want to use Rulix AI you will have to remove the money loot mini mod, honestly i have not seen any AI package that makes the NPC smarter but they can provide fun abilities for the NPC.
-I have altered stalker brains a little according to testings from different AI mods, they can now see and engage further so this should help remove situations where stalkers just turn and walk away from fight. They should be more responsive, not 'smarter' but less likely to ruin immersion.
-Animals are much better at spotting you and will hunt you. Especially pseudodog he han smell his azzhole major from good distance, some animal are very hard to avoid because of their perception. Pigs and dog now get scared when they are alone so they feel more alive.
---Hat or Moustache?
I did not actually touch the armour files, what i found is the game has a file called danger.ltx wich handles what lvl of protection armour types offer and also what body part they affect. As example with vanilla setting a helmet would cover not only your head but provide protection for your jaw and neck aswell. What i have done is edited this file so now a helmet will only cover the upper part of your head, this applies to the NPC aswell. Also now armour suits only provide protection to the torso with exeption of exoskeleton suits. The player now takes damage across all of his body (even fingers and eyelids!) and so do enemies.
I found some inconcistensies in the char_description file, some enemies did not visually represent their level of protection correctly. For example exo skeleton men were spawning with basic body armour levels of protection but the player could not 'see' this. So you had some enemies dying faster than they should and other being stronger than they looked. I spent some time and i have corrected this but there will still be some variation between enemies but nothing ridiculous.
To summarise, body vest only protects the body. Some enemies like the heavily padded soldiers have some limb protection, and of course exo skeleton suits, but most have exposed limbs. This applies to his azzhole major aswell.

-loot drops severly reduced, alot less grenades but after certain quest battles you will still find quite a few
-starting equipment lowered: just a leather jacket, sidearm, small essentials and 500 RU. Equipment is procure on site!
-stalkers wont just drop artifacts as loot randomly, if they have an artifact on them it is because they actually grabbed it
-no more stashes, the zone does not like you and gives nothing. Crhistmas is over bitches!
-artifacts more powerful, but also have bigger drawback. They are not a nice thing but can grant power.
