Terribly sorry if there's a post for this all ready, but I couldn't find it with search... so here goes:
First off, the game version I'm running is 1.6.02 and it's unmodded as it's my first playthrough.
#1.) I've got the Wealthy Client [or something along those lines] achievement and it does fvck all. I've been in the Zone for 2 in-game months after getting the cheevo and none of the traders that I've met [Beard, Owl and Hawaiian] seem to offer me better warez so far.
Is there a time limit for the cheevo to take effect?
#2.) Is there a way to see your personal status with Duty and Freedom?
I've delivered Morgan's PDA to Shulga at Yanov and Duty retained the armoury, then I went with Uncle Yar to the Zombie village to dispose of the Mercs and exposed Flint and neither show any sign of status loss or gain. Not really sure if I want to side with either faction or remain neutral.
#3.) Trappers mission for the Chimera that killed Fox doesn't seem to do a whole lot either. I went to the marked area and no sign of the Chimera after trudging about the complex for an in-game hour or so. Reloaded thrice after more trudging about for about the same amount of time and during the third reload some Flesh and Boars showed up instead. After that I was fed up with it and overkilled myself with an OG-7VL rocket launced at my feet...
Thanks in advance.

1.) - It didn't do shit for me either. Owl only starts selling the really good stuff at the very end of the game. But when he does... oh boy.
2.) - You have to do tasks in favor of predominantly one faction to get the "Friend of Duty/Freedom" achievement - i.e. since you delivered Morgan's PDA to Duty, I suggest you do the same with General Tachenko's PDA as well once you get it later in the game. Also, once you encounter Strider and his men, it is best that you ask Shulga to let them join his faction. In other words, once you start siding with a faction, go the whole way with it. Otherwise you won't get much of a benefit.
Also, who did you expose Flint to? Was it Loki, Shulga, or the loner guy at the Skadovsk?
3.) - did you arrive at the complex at night?

#1.) Awesome cheevo... pff.
#2.) So no real indication of status like CS had? Exposed him to Loki. Figured since he's posing as a Freedom member let them sort it out. Then went back to Gonta to complete the mission and got a couple thousand Ru for it.
But what if I'd like a balanced outcome. Since I've delivered the PDA and helped Duty retain the armoury, and exposed Flint to Loki - would getting Strider and his crew into Freedom ranks or getting Freedom to take over the guard post at the science bunker even it all out?
Just remembered that Uncle Yar's mission isn't for Freedom, but for himself.
#3.) I arrived at night - 3 a.m.'ish. Got the radio transmission from Trapper around 2 a.m.'ish at the AA complex evac site right before a blowout.

#1.) Awesome cheevo... pff. Keep in mind that it's probably the easiest one to get. Amassing 100,000 rubles becomes pretty easy in the later stages of the game. But what if I'd like a balanced outcome. Since I've delivered the PDA and helped Duty retain the armoury, and exposed Flint to Loki - would getting Strider and his crew into Freedom ranks or getting Freedom to take over the guard post at the science bunker even it all out? To get Strider and his team into Freedom's ranks you need a good rep with Freedom first. That would probably entail giving them Tachenko's PDA. Try doing that, and have Duty do the guard task for the scientists instead. It should be reasonably balanced. AFAIK, one can also just sell all of this shit to Owl, but then you can't really get Strider into one of the factions. So it's a complicated balancing procedure. #3.) I arrived at night - 3 a.m.'ish. Got the radio transmission from Trapper around 2 a.m.'ish at the AA complex evac site right before a blowout. Uhh, I dunno. That thing tends to wander around sometimes, but I usually find it right by the complex.

It is the easiest cheevo. Got it in Zaton, by selling Beard ther arti's that're useless to me. Had no idea that getting the Veles detector was part of the reward for the Bloodsucker lair. Was one of the first missions I did. Kind of similar to getting the Veles in CS that early.
Hmmm for now I think I'll stick to remaining as neutral as possible neutral and mess about with getting friendly with either faction in a different playthrough.
I'll start wandering around the complex for a bit a few times if that doesn't wiork I'll load to an earlier save see if that does anything.

I see what you meant with "really good stuff at the very end of the game. But when he does... oh boy." Owl now sells me Sphere helmets Bulats, SEVAs RPG ammo and the occasionally Exoskeletons.
I kept the Duty/Freedom balance by giving Duty Morgan's PDA and recruit Strider for them and with Freedom I gave them Magpie and Tachenko's PDA. Both factions are yellow, with exception of Uncle Yar who's green.
I found my Chimera... it was inside the domeshaped building of ventilation complex. Killed with nades as I found no way to get inside from there. Only took 35 nades orso.

Just finished CoP and was surprised that I did. I knew it was shorter, but damn... this was just too short! But other than that it's awesome! I'll definitely do a 2nd playthrough within a few weeks.
Only two things bugged me about the ending. Finding the Oasis causing Bandits to do what do do best and Pripyat being a dead city. I'm pretty sure that I forgot to do something to get that ending, but come on! Deggy - with his return to Zone as observer - can disprove Garry's claims of it being as dead city. And even Garry should know better... he's been there.
Kinda curious if there's others who thought it was a bit of a meh ending for Pripyat?
Also, sometimes I bitch and moan about the little things and details.

Ending is what you make it.
I've managed to get pretty close to perfect, just screw up on some tiny bit or forget to do some small task or another.
But yeah, the Oasis ending was a bit of a letdown, but the Zone's not a camping trip either. Bandits will stay bandits.

I kinda liked the ending, it was a little corny.
But it didn't really have the same impact as SoC's endings.
