He's ex-GSC, apparently. What pesters me about these is the low polygon count. Even though the bloodsucker animations look quite...interesting, to say the least, the models may look even worse than they did before due to low polycount.

The low FPS is just as odd. Might be because the animation is playing inside maya so it has to evaluate all the nodes and that lows things down. It's weird they didn't just do a playblast. The animations themselves look wonderful and fluid, with an no economy of details. I only hope they'll increase the resolutions and quality of textures.
Also, it ain't a leak. Twas posted on the GSC facebook page.

Also, the modeller who posted it first used to work at GSC before - possibly one of the folks who got laid off.

Hi, luftwaffe. Yep, sad news. We've got Survarium to look forward to, although nobody is sure how it's going to turn out.

Honestly I do not know how well this is going to work out for them, considering it's going to be f2p, but for god's sake I hope it's not Pay2Win.

Isn't pay2win the way these free2play things actually generate income?
I'm not playing it regardless, I just hope becomes a huge success and they generate enough income to go back to Stalker 2, if not release all the work they've done and let the modding community pick over it, and maybe release a descent, half playable creation.

Sadly, Karc, they can't. They do not own the IP for the game. The IP is in the hands of the head of GSC.
Pay2Win...Not necessarily. It could be Pay or Grind, like with Tribes :Ascend (or by a long, long, long shot League of Legends). It's a tricky situation, which is why everyone is so apprehensive of it. I would rather they made it a fixed price without a subscription fee with optional cosmetic purchases that do not affect the gameplay in order to generate more income.

Oh right, well it'd be nice if GSC did what I said...
Either way, I'm not keen at all on an MMO, even if it embodies a lot of Stalker's elements, it just isn't Stalker.
I'm just going to live in hope that one day Stalker 2 will be released somehow.

It's basically an ArmA mod with zombies, but fairly atmospheric - or so I've heard. People are already using it as an alternative to S.T.A.L.K.E.R.'s multiplayer due to the ability to team up, scavenge, use plenty of vehicles, larger maps, etc.

For those who care, there's a rumour and it's only a rumour, Bethesda may have aqquired the rights to make S.T.A.L.K.E.R., personally if this is the case I'm at a 50/50 I ove the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series, but having played to FPS games made by Bethesda (Fallout and Brink) I'm not sure they can deliver the goods and make the same type of atmosphere that GSC managed with it's own efforts. Will keep on the case. Edit: This site is one source I looked at.
