MUTANT SEA COWS

We should have aquatic mutants, maybe not sea cows but it's a start. Anyway with the whole world gone to hell, what is going to become of Duty, me a Basil have some idea what will become for Freedom. Loners are still loners and Bandits are still bandits, they just have a bigger play ground.

Care to share what will happen with Freedom? As I see it they don't have a point now, if the whole world is one big zone they are pretty much useless... What's the point of sharing it with the world when it's everywhere?
Duty won't change they'll still fight the zone, bandits, Freedom, Monolith and anyone else who looks at them funny. It'll just be bigger. And have better hardware, or is that a problem?

Well Duty will be trying to exterminate the new Zone World and Freedom will be there just to try and prevent that I guess. Everyone else is as usual. And I thought about something, what about all the nuclear weapons? Maybe Duty will try to take them to try and... I don't know... Actually no that wouldn't help but someone will definitely try and get them.

Funny I would have thought Freedom to be in batter position than Duty, but anyway I see Freedom studying the zone, trying to figure out what made it grow and if all else fails how to help humanity cope with living with the zone.

If the zone suddenly appeared over the whole world, Bandits and Loners would become the biggest groups... So in other words Freedom becomes the egg heads, why help people live in shitty conditions when you fight against those conditions and try and make a difference?
Nukes will not be used... that might eliminate the immediate threat, but the effects will last a long time after. I mainly meant Duty will evolve more into a military group, using vehicles with their patrol's, since they won't be stuck using 20 year old rusted equipment now.
Another thing I'd like to know... how populated is this new world? Has a vast majority been wiped out? Mainly if there's limited numbers it give Freedom and Duty something to compete against. A recruitment drive so to speak.
But may I suggest that we include new factions also? Some suggestions:
Another fanatic group, not the Monolith faction but something more along the lines of a doomsday cult. Far less sophisticated, more a rabble of crazies.
Several sects of the Bandit faction, Renegades, Bandits and some other group, like an overseer group.
Another group like Clear Sky, or just use Clear sky again.
And maybe a group like Greenpeace... just so they can be torn to pieces.

I'm not about to make a Sparta Duty VS Athens Freedom debate. But yes there will be fights over all kinds of resources.
Rurik=Leonidas Mag= Themistocles

I wasn't saying that either, but since Rurik will be dining in hell some time I'll let it fly.
I want to know about the general population of the planet, because a world wide zone would encompass a lot of different aspects, which animals would become dominate in this changed world? Would there still be power? Are cities arranged into forts or do they still operate like normal, what will happen to governments? Would the zone's legendary creatures be everywhere or just in the zone still?
Can we get some answers?

Freedom would survive as an Anarchist society. Fundamentally, the conflict between Duty and Freedom is the conflict between authoritarianism (Duty) and libertarianism (Freedom). Freedom is fundamentally Anarchist, not scientific, and Duty is fundamentally authoritarian.
So Duty would logically become an authoritarian political and military entity hell-bent on fighting the world wide zone whereas Freedom would be a more libertarian society focused on adapting to the new world and its dangers.
Also, regarding weaponry and stuff, take into account the fact that a World Wide Zone would also be severely hard-pressed to sustain any kind of extensive industry. At most you could have a few workshops, but otherwise, tech would be mostly scavenged and would be repaired whenever something broke or got damaged. Therefore, Duty having an army of tanks and helicopters is unfeasible.

More details about mutants, populace and living arrangements of those people.

I'm guessing that these ideas will never come to fruition then.

I thought about this the other day, it would work better if the factions weren't controlled by anyone participating, as Bosol said, Duty would strive for power, trying to wrest control of this new world while attempting to wipe out any resistance, and Freedom, adapting and fighting 'The Man' (Duty).
Back to my point, basically the RP/story focuses on the survival of our stalkers venturing through this new hell, discovering new artifacts, anomalies and mutants. Using their knowledge of The Zone to help other survivors or rob them blind (or whatever other dastardly deeds you want), or a bit of both. With less focus on interaction, and more on the daily struggle.
As for other factions, I'd say the bandits would have the largest numbers, (just look at the London riots) it doesn't take much to encourage peoples inner yob, and with most of the authorities wiped out there's no one to stop them. So that's another element for our chaps and chappets to look out for/murder in violent ways.
Scientists would probably retreat to underground labs, continuing experiments and generally being nerdy eggheads that they are.
Numerous small factions/communities living in fortified locations could scatter the land, being semi self dependent, only venturing out to collect/trade when they need them.
On hind sight, this all sounds a lot like Fallout... still with our writing, and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. as the base for inspiration I'm sure it would be a little more... gritty and realistic.
This all just a suggestion of course.
