Wait, so I have to go back to Owl, give him a duplicate of Morgan's PDA, then come back to Yanov and give Duty/Freedom a third copy? And then they won't seal the door? No. Once you give either of the commanders at Yanov Station, a Morgan's PDA, you can only give more of that PDA to Owl. If you give another of that PDA to either of the commanders at Yanov, you cop that doorseal. I tried various combos of giving out a Morgan's PDA to see what'd happen. THINK. Morgan was a Dutyier. Once you have that PDA you have to choose who you're going to side with. Loners, Duty, or Freedom. It's *ALL* tied to the Achievements system. stalker.wikia.com/wiki/A_Man_of_Balancestalker.wikia.com/wiki/A_Friend_of_Dutystalker.wikia.com/wiki/A_Friend_of_FreedomWhich one of those you go after sets wether or not you can earn stalker.wikia.com/wiki/Leaderwhich is where you got jammed. As far as I can find, who you hand the documents doesn't have a bearing on how your faction rep tallies to get the full squad and Leader. edit: The other major tipping point for your Duty/Freedom/Loners faction rep is Yanov Labs replacement guards job stalker.wikia.com/wiki/Find_ReplacementsJenifur Charne

That stuff's got nothing to do with my current situation anymore though. All I needed to know was weather or not I could salvage my situation without starting the game over again. And it seems I can't. I still blame GSC for allowing a situation in which the task is just un-accomplishable. They should have made it clear that you have to side with one faction, not just make the player slowly realize it by the time it's too late.
I'm just going to kill Strider and his crew, pawn their guns for nades and ammo and go to Pripyat in a 4 man squad then.
Man, there hasn't been a single S.T.A.L.K.E.R. game so far that I've accomplished perfectly on the first play-through.
Do I even need a squad for any missions in Pripyat?
EDIT
Whacked Strider's crew and Freedom suddenly turned friendly after that. Now that's just fucking aggravating.

Just to add to my earlier post....
I usually sell the Duty general's PDA to Owl. This time I tried Loki and he paid almost as much as Owl and threw in a SiG550 and, I think, 300 rounds of SS109.
Didn't get 'Friend of Freedom', though. I think you have to hand over Soroka to Freedom, too, to get that. The loners got him.
Carnage, let us know if there's any mention of Strider in your ending slideshow when you get there. I wondered what would happen if him and his group met an unfortunate and premature end.

I don't think I got Friend of Freedom either, even though I gave Soroka to Freedom.
And Zulu didn't show up at the school in Pripyat EITHER, even though he survived to Pripyat.
But, to be honest, I really don't give a fuck anymore, since it seems the backbone of the game's mission system is based on a carefully calculated and complex system of pure bullshit.

The real problem is that since certain matters in the game rely entirely on one's FacRep, the devs fucked up by not including a way for a player to check their FacRep. Jenifur Charne

Bigtime. I thought they learned their lesson with Clear Sky.

They didn't. And they have still not learned to leave be; game mechanics that work, and only adjust the stuff that doesn't.
Among other things that were stupidly removed from CoP, pressing the 'H' key no longer brings up your PDA with a list of who is in detect range and their attitude towards you

Okay, finished the game yesterday. Epilogues always leave me sappy for a while.

Homeworld (true 3D RTS) did that to me. Sometimes I watch the ending credits if I want an incredible nostalgia trip.

Oh yeah, Strider wasn't mentioned in my epilogue, for those interested.

I don't expect to see Strider in the endgame credits in my current playthrough, since I'm playing strictly pro-loners.

Seems you can go entirely pro-loners, for all the achievements, and still make one or other faction friendly enough to take his squad.
I got 'One of Us', 'Friend of Stalkers', the mutant and detective ones and still got Strider's lot into Freedom with Morgan's PDA. Not sure there are any more achievements tied to loners.

Mind you, letting Freedom have that Duty armory seems to have pauperized the entire faction. The heavy-armour guys still have Grozas and scoped Abakans with secondary shotguns - Protecta or SPAS - but the ordinary guys are going out there literally with two grenades and a medkit.
I came across an entire squad without any automatic weapons or shotguns. Two had pistols and the other two were the 'grenadier' types with two grenades and a medkit/bandage/food item.
I found all that out after they got stomped by a couple of boars.
