Name: Slither
Appearance: Resembles an enlarged snake with unusual, diamond-like patterns on the back. Usually about four meters long, is known to rise its body. Their colours vary from that of most inconspicuous to fluorescent, depending on the levels of mutation.
General description:
A "Slither" represents a viper which, due to exposure to severe radiation levels in the Zone, began to mutate. Their size has considerably increased along with their aggression and venomous potential. They are known to inhabit damp, dark places and mostly stay away from active places. They usually feed off rats, rat wolves and rodents, but the larger snakes are known to attack larger prey. Their venom is incredibly lethal, as there is no known antidote. Luckily, the snakes are somewhat slow when moving and have crippled senses due to their life underground. As well as that, they stay away from the light.
Their size usually varies from two meters to incredible, nine meter specimens, usually called "queens", regardless of gender.
Their colour depends on their level of mutation-those which have been exposed to the "right" mutagens will soon become fluorescent. This "trait" is already lost in the third generation, while the other characteristics are not altered by "evolution".
Slither poison is an extremely lethal substance, valued by scientists. The larger the specimen, the more potent the venom. Scientists are willing to pay large amounts of money for a sample of the "queen" venom.
Despite their relative sluggish appearance and their crippled perceptive senses, these snakes have a lightning-quick and rather powerful bite. Once the victim is bit, the venom acts as a strong neurotoxin, eventually shutting the nervous system in a matter of minutes.
