So... Guise.
After watching sum 9th Company last night, I've been hit with a very interesting idea.
What if all of the stalker characters we've made so far up to this point were with the military from the start? As in, an AU scenario where our veteran characters are part of the same special Blue Beret or VDV team dispatched to the Zone, regardless of affiliation in the official RP.
I figured it would be an interesting change in perspective to turn the ends around from the stalker populace, instead controlling characters that are hated by pretty much everyone. Not to mention that they are on some dangerous mission with all of the inherent hazards of the Zone itself, not even considering the fact that stalkers would now be aggressive as well.
So the team essentially gets deployed into the Zone via air (to avoid having to do that 'sneak-past-Rostok' bullshit for the umpteenth time in this RP), and get shot down somewhere in the North and have to fend for themselves. Not necessarily a rip-off of CoP, as we could give them some specific misson to do.
Here's a list of ranks, roles, and weapons I came up with for the occassion:
Leader - sergeant, squad captain, or just a general badass (one - Junior, Senior, Master Sergeant/Starshina, Captain or Warrant Officer/Praporshik)
Rifleman/soldier (possibly x 2 or more - privates or gefreitors)
Recon/Scout (one, possibly 2 - privates or gefreitors)
Grenadier/HWY Weapons (one - privates or gefreitors)
Heavy Gunner (one, maybe two max - privates or gefreitors)
Marksman/Sniper (preferably only one - privates or gefreitors)
Medic (one - privates or gefreitors)
Guide/soldier with Zone experience (possibly, although we may just decide to discard this one - any rank up to sergeant)
Armament - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russian_Airborne_Troops#Armament, along with any Warsaw pact weapons you can think of appropriate for the character's role in the team - I.E. VSS, VAL, Groza, etc... Don't go over the top though. The characters will be lightly armed at best compared to their stalker alter-egos - no super grenade launchers or weapons of the like that can decimate a building with ease. NATO/Western guns are not allowed.
If you're interested, post your character, along with the rank and role they play, as well as a equipment list. Since we're no longer dealing with stalker-land, weapons can no longer be modified from the start. Also, feel free to come up with a squad name or number.

Private Victor Serganov (medic) - Weapons: AK-200, PM Makarov pistol
