The old forum had one of these, so here it goes.
I'm currently trying to force my way through The Silmarillion, this is now the third time I've set out to completely finish it, but I have yet to get half way through.

I have the same problem, I set out to read it, but after a while I kinda lose interest in it. Or move on to something else, I'm currently reading a book I found in the city in a park, it's called The case of the Runaway Corpse, it's a crime/mystery type of thing.

The Millenium Trilogy - The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo - The Girl who Played with Fire - The Girl who Kicked the Hornet's Nest
A series of genre-busting novels - the first is a crime novel, the second a psychological horror and the third is a political conspiracy. All are thrillers. It's been fairly popular, given that the author died sadly soon after delivering the manuscripts.
The books are about two main characters: Lisbeth Salander, a delinquent, socially-maladjusted, violent computer hacker and Mikael Blomkvist, a journalist. Together, they journey through the strange world of "Sweden" and cross paths with misogynists, neo-Nazis and gangsters.
On a serous note, it's a good series. The only flaws in it that I can see are a tendency for the books to have a sprawling sub-plot and the fact that it describes computer hacking fairly unrealistically (you won't notice much unless you're into IT security - it sounds plausible). The characters are well-developed, if not completely realistic, and there is an element of wish-fulfillment about the endings to each.

Read Gort Ashryn's 1st part through a while ago, working up the botherage to get into the 2nd part. It's a really cool sci-fi book, but I think it's only out in Estonian so I doubt you guys know it.

Finished "Le Totemisme aujourdhui" by Claude Lévi-Strauss. Not a bad read, although requires a lot of other references around. Turns out totem-ism isn't really a religion after all.

Just finished reading the 1981 George Bull translation of Il Principe by Niccolò di Bernardo dei Machiavelli. About to start re-reading a compendium of the first three books of Dune by Frank Herbert.

Finally came across an online copy of The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint Exupéry. Time to revisit my childhood, except in English this time. It's a great book, I highly recommend people take the little time it takes to read through it, if they haven't already.

Grabbed a stack of Spawn comics the other day, as well as World War Z finally. Sometimes I think it would be a good idea if there was an actual ZSG in print form.

Just purchased a copy of The Discworld Graphic Novels: The Colour Of Magic & The Light Fantastic. It's a collection of the 2 sets of 4 volume graphic novel versions of the first 2 Discworld books. Each volume of the 2 sets of graphic novels was first published back in 1991.
