"Any idea who this guy is?" Drakon heard Darius ask as he knelt over the corpse. "I haven't got a clue, Disciple hasn't exactly been open about his past, and the gods haven't deigned to reveal anything to me. He was probably an old acquaintance from the military judging by the uniform; the question is, how the hell did he end up in a stalker ca..." Drakon was interrupted by the sound of rapid gunfire and explosions. A loner came charging into the room shouting "They're here, they're here, everybody get to your positions." Drakon rose up to his full height, cocked his AK and looked around him. "Pianist, you stay here to look after Disciple, Darius come with me." The loner nodded and followed Drakon as he sprinted down the stairs and out into the courtyard. As soon as they were out of the building bullets begun to snap past them, puncturing the thin metal doors of the compound. Drakon sprinted to the closest cover and started to fire at the soldiers coming through a hole in the wall of the compound. As a particularly large group of soldiers came through the wall, Drakon hurled a grenade in their general direction. He was rewarded by a loud explosion and agonised screams. Drakon suddenly heard a noise over the gunshots, the sound of rotor blades gradually increasing in volume as they drowned out everything else. The mercenary's insides turned cold as he realised what was coming. "Everybody, get inside now! They're sending in the gunships!" Just as he finished his sentence the helicopter came into view, it's spotlights lighting up the courtyard and temporarily blinding Drakon as his eyes got used to the sudden glare. A voice crackled into life, transmitted through the loudspeaker attached to the helicopter. "We have you outmanned and outgunned, give up now and we assure you that you will have a quick death; if not, well...." the voice chuckled "You better be sure to kill yourselves before we find you." A few of the stalkers looked like they were about to comply, but Drakon spoke up before they had a chance to utter a word. "How do we know that this is true? For all we know you're just gonna cart us off to you're torture rooms, or use us as practice dummies." Drakon's body convulsed as the fire inside of him started to burn brighter. "I say no, we are free stalkers and we will not be cowed by the likes of you!" He turned to the others in the courtyard. "Brothers, the gods are with us!" Drakon roared and started to fire at the soldiers, catching them by surprise. The other stalkers did the same and for a moment it seemed as if they were going to annihilate the military. Drakon heard the voice utter a dissapointed tutting sound. Then he saw the muzzle flare as the helicopter's machine guns lit up. Drakon new he was going to die, even before the bullets hit him; the mercenary was thrown off his feet by the force of the heavy calibre rounds. He felt nothing as bullets ripped into his torso, cracking his ribs and piercing his guts; he felt nothing as they scored inch wide craters into his shoulder and he felt nothing as the final one punctured his neck. Drakon took what he thought to be his final breath as the fire in his soul beckoned to him...

Darius flung himself to the ground as the Hind's MG tore stalkers apart, including Drakon.
"Shit, shit, shit!" He cursed, this was certainly not going to plan...
Crawling away from the wrecked window to stay in cover he tried to think of a plan.
I need to blind that pilot, but how? He thought when it suddenly occurred to him, with a flash of light.
Fumbling, he tugged the Flash artifact from his belt and waited. as the the pilot made another pass, he was until it had just passed, drew his pistol and fired two shots at the cockpit, the Hind swung around.
But before the pilot could see what had fired or what he was holding Darius held the artifact in one hand, looked away, clamped his eyes shut and fired at it with the other. The resulting flash blinded those who were looking. Darius fell back into cover holding his hand gasping in pain from the shards of the artifact that had embedded into his hand and were now searing the flesh.
The Hind's pilot was teetering, not fully in control of his vehicle and most of the stalkers and military were now clutching crates to stay standing or crawling towards what they thought was a safe point.
Standing finally despite the pain in his hand he carefully picked off three grunts that were near by before emptying the clip of his pistol aiming for the Hind's rear rotor, several rounds glanced off, when one struck it's mark, sending the Helicopter spinning wildly into the air narrowly missing the buildings before lurching off wildly colliding with a tree and crashing, engulfing the area in flames.
Reloading his pistol, Darius was sure that would halt the military's push for now at least, killing one more grunt who was trying to pull himself up. He looked over Drakon's mangled body.

Pianist heard the helicopter blades getting closer to the factory. He was sitting beside Disciple with his hands tightly clutching his Abakan. Then he heard Drakon shouting outside. Pianist came over to the window carefully and looked over at Drakon and the group of loners surrounding him. Pianist couldn't make out what the Merc was saying, only the word "gods". Then the battle commenced. Pianist also fired up from his rifle and took down a grunt or two, when suddenly the helicopter mounted machine-gun rattled to life. The loner looked over to where it was shooting and saw Drakon on the floor with his chest ripped up with holes. "Shit! No!" Pianist shouted, but there was nothing he could do now. He didn't even know Drakon that well, only his name, but it was still a great shame to lose a valuable ally such as Drakon. Then he turned back to Disciple and saw that he was gaining consciousness slowly. Pianist came up to him, kneeled down raising Disciple's head and poured the liquid that Darius brewed into his friend's mouth. From Disciple's facial expressions he could see that it didn't taste so good, but he trusted Darius and knew that the 'medicine' would only be for the better. After all the liquid was downed Disciple put his head back down and closed his eyes, his body taking in the liquid. Then he suddenly opened his eyes and sat up. "What happened?" he asked. "We'll you went into that room and then all I know is that someone shot you and killed that guy" Pianist pointed to the body of the other man found in the room "then the grunts made a move with the helicopter, which killed Drakon, but now someone shot it down, that's it" "Shit..." Disciple said, probably realizing that now Drakon was dead. "We have to get moving now" said Pianist. They entered the factory courtyard where Drakon's body laid with Darius following them behind and saw a sight they didn't want to see at least for now.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jackal advanced through the ranks of bandits and grunts killing both alike and evading a fight when possible until he finally reached the factory complex. He saw that some bandits were escaping into some underground system and grunts were moving into the factory complex through a hole in the concrete wall. He quietly followed them through and saw a scene of rampage. Grunts, loners and bandits were butchering each other like animals. Most of the bandits were dead so it was pretty much a loner - military conflict, but it was still a massacre. He moved in hiding behind piles of concrete slabs and metal barrels and saw a helicopter above him. The pilot was giving a speech to the stalkers. Jackal didn't care much for that. The Merc looked over the factory building and saw two familiar faces: Pianist and Darius(but he didn't know their names). "Those are the guys who were accompanying Drakon, that means he's nearby" Jackal said to himself. Then he heard the rattle of the helicopter guns. "I wouldn't wanna get in the way of that" Then something blinded him. A light bright as the sun, maybe brighter. It seemed to be all around him, coming from everywhere. Then a crashing and then an exploding sound deafened him. The ground shook and heat pinched his body. When he opened his eyes and saw the helicopter lying in ruins by a tree which was blazing in flames like the ground around it. "What on earth was that?" Jackal asked himself. A blinded grunt stumbled up in front of the Merc. Jackal took out his BFR and fired two shots: in the heart and in the head. The soldier dropped down dead. Jackal moved in, stepping over the dead bodies, grunts ahead firing at the factory. Then Jackal saw Drakon. His mangled body was lying on the floor in a pool of blood, clearly dead. Two strong feelings shook Jackal: happiness, which was then outgrown by a stronger feeling of anger and disappointment. "NO! He was mine! You had no right to kill him!" Jackal screamed cocking his Galil. The soldiers turned back to meet their deaths. The Merc went on a rampage. He pulled the trigger once and didn't release until the clip was empty, dropping 5 grunts dead. Then he threw his rifle to the ground and took out his Magnum. Four bullets left. He aimed at a loner and fired. Dead. Another. Miss. Then dead. Final round. He looked at Drakon. Then he aimed at his head, which was still intact, unlike the torso. Then Jackal fired. The skull cracked, brains mixed with bits of skull splattered on the ground beneath. Then Jackal looked up and saw three loners. All of which were the ones from Drakon's group. Jackal spread his arms whilst the loners momentarily drew their weapons. The black sunrise suited drew his pistol, the SEVA dressed one drew his rifle and the last sunrise drew a Colt. They aimed their weapons at Jackal and pulled their triggers. Jackal felt nothing as the bullets ripped through his flesh. He didn't know that his main adversary felt exactly the same moments ago when the helicopter MG tore him apart. Jackal felt nothing as he hit the ground, his body full of lead, his skull cracked by a Colt bullet. Then Pianist, whose name he also didn't know, came up to him, closed the Merc's eyes with his palm and picked up his Magnum and the IMI Galil. Then he went over to Drakon and did the same and went back to his fellows.

Disciple opened his eyes to see Pianist crouching over him and staring nervously at the door, before he could do or say anything his friend saw that he was awake and poured a foul tasting liquid down his throat, Disciple choked and coughed a little but forced it down knowing that it would do him some good. When all of the concoction was gone, Disciple lay his head back down and closed his eyes. "What happened?" he asked Pianist in a tired voice. His friend proceeded to tell him about the happenings of the last ten minutes, how Drakon had been ripped apart by the helicopter and was lying out in the courtyard. "Shit." At Pianist's behest Disciple slowly got up and picked up his weapons, looking at his old friend's corpse he said a prayer for the man's soul and vowed revenge. He then followed Pianist out into the courtyard where Drakon's mangled body lay, bleeding onto the concrete. Disciple started to walk towards his dead companion, but before he had taken more than a few few steps an anguished shout rang out through the stalker base followed by a burst of gunfire. A short, stocky man charged into the courtyard and fixed Drakon's corpse with an angry stare. He muttered something under his breath and aimed his Colt at the dead mercenary's head. The shot echoed through the courtyard and at such close range, decimated Drakon's face. Disciple drew his pistol and fired his whole magazine into the stranger, who fell to the ground dead. Walking over to the corpse of the newcomer Disciple realised that he was the man who had attacked them in the garbage, and was glad that the son of a bitch had finally got what was coming to him. He left the corpse to Pianist and walked over to examine Drakon's remains, he would give his former ally a proper burial but first he would take what things of use that hadn't been destroyed by the heavy calibre barrage. He took Drakon's PDA, the two artefacts he had gained, his pistol and his modified shotgun. He also took the dead mercenary's dragon pommeled knife, attaching the sheath to his belt.
Finally, he got up and turned to Pianist. "Have you got any idea where your bandit is hiding?" he asked.

"Have you got any idea where your bandit is hiding?" Disciple asked Pianist. Pianist thought for a moment, trying to remember what the bandits were shouting during the fight for the factory. "Well, I heard the bandits shout that they were going to retreat to the Underground, where one of them has set himself up a little trading post. I say we pay those bandits a visit to "exchange some merchandise"". Pianist looked at Darius, who gave a nod, approving the suggestion, then at Disciple, who said "Well then, if you say so". And with that the group went on to the entrance to the feared Agroprom Underground.
Once the group of loners was out of the factory they saw green hills and another building in the distance, where violent fighting was still going. They heard explosions of mortar shells, but couldn't tell whether it was bandits or soldiers firing. Then they looked straight ahead of them and saw a bandit slip into a hole, which looked like a sewer. "This is it" Darius said. "Then let's go" replied Pianist and threw a grenade down into the hole. As soon as it exploded and shouts of wounded men came from underground Pianist jumped down, followed by his comrades.
The tunnels were dark and ominous. Pianist stepped forward, letting the other loners have space to land. On the floor there was a wounded bandit, pulling himself towards the end of the corridor, where a door led to the right. Pianist walked over to him and turned him over, putting the newly acquired BFR to the bandit's head. "I can make it quick for you, unless you tell me where can I find this local trader of yours, in that case I'll leave you here to rot with a med-kit on the other side of the corridor. Your choice". The cowardly bandit looked at the three loners with fear and terror in his eyes and then mumbled "T-t-the trader your l-l-looking for is called C-cheapskate. He's started packing up shop the moment fighting broke out, so if I were you, I'd hurry the fuck up if you want to c-c-catch him". Pianist let go of the bandit and put away the gun. As promised, he took out a med-kit and threw it down the other end of the corridor where the loners just came from. When the bandit saw that he began madly wiggling trying to crawl towards the medicine, his legs all covered in blood. The loners went through the door, through a hall full of acid anomalies, where they kept hearing the blasts of Electros. Then they made their way down a spiral staircase and stopped at the bottom to listen. Down the corridor they heard someone speaking. "Where the hell is Vasili? He said he was coming down! I'll go and check on him" after that the loners heard footsteps moving closer towards them. They all threw up their guns to meet the unlucky bandit. The moment he came around the corner Pianist said in a low quiet voice "Hands up, gun down" the bandit quickly followed the commands and threw his MP5 on the floor. Disciple went up to the bandit and knocked him out cold with the butt of his gun. "He's lucky we let him live" he remarked. And soon the loners were continuing their trip through the underground.
((please can someone check the previous post))
I did check it, but as I said, realistically there's no way he can carry all that.
((Pianist? He doesn't have much at all, or are you talking about Disciple? In which case you misunderstood me. My mistake, I meant to say my last post. I've missed a word))
