When Stalker first came out in 2007,
I was using a desktop with a Core2Duo, 2GB of DDR RAM and a Radeon X1300. It managed to play the game on static lighting, only. And just about.
In 2008, I bought a Dell XPS M1530. It came with a Core2Duo, T9300, 4GB of DDR2 RAM at 667Mhz, and an Nvidia 8600GT. It could just about manage some dynamic lighting... if occasionally being jittery.
In 2012, I bought an MSI GE70. It came with a Corei7-3610QM, 8GB of DDR3 RAM at 1333Mz, and an Nvidia GT650M . It plays dynamic lighting nice and slick.
Last week, I built a new desktop. Nothing spectacular, I wanted it to be a Media box rather than a gaming monster. AMD A10 7700k APU, MSI A88X -E45, 8GB DDR3 RAM at 2400Mhz, a 128GB SSD, and no dedicated GPU. This thing's all integrated graphics only. It plays on full dynamic lighting, just as happily. And quietly.
Seven years of computer development, encapsulated. Now if I can find some of the old mod's, we'd be golden.
Also. Hello.
