Boris walked up to the gate to the zone. His connections to widely known martial artist had allowed him to obtain a permit to enter. The guards gave him no trouble.
Within minutes of walking down the path he was ambushed by three men. They rushed him, two holding pistols and the third with a sawed-off shotgun.
"Hey there rookie," one of them spoke, his voice dripping with venom, "Why don't you let us see what's in your pack?"
Boris made a deep clicking noise, scanning the area. He opened his eyes, revealing his blindness. The mugger's laughed.
"Ha! This one's blind! Seriously man!? Do you have a death wish? Just drop the pack and go ho-"
The mugger was interrupted by a kama hooking onto his shotgun. Boris pulled and disarmed the man before dropping the kama and throwing two knives each into the eye sockets of the pistol wielding muggers. The disarmed man ran, leaving his weapon. Boris sighed. He had hoped for more of a challenge.

Shade had order his bandits to raid and loot far and wide, encouraging them to hold up Duty patrols in the south, with mixed results. Few knew that the last leader had nearly wiped the Bandits out of their stockpiles and funds. Every organized faction in the zone depended on money stockpiles to some point, the zone did not provide the amount of food and other resources needed to keep large groupings a float for long.
Raiding would allow the Bandits to recoup some of the lost funds, still they would need more. Sultan, was unifying the Bandits in the north under his control and was the one who pulled strings in Dark Valley and had been the one that allow him to take over the base.
Shade sat in the office used by two of his predecessors as the base's medic looked over his still healing injuries.
"You need to relax more," the doctor said after dressing his leader in fresh bandages, "you'er not allowing your body to rest, you'er liable to rip open the wounds."
"I haven't the luxury," was the assassin's reply as he pulled his clothing and armor back on. Suddenly his PDA began to buzz and ring, and urgent message from one of the lowly ranked captains in the Garbage. Apparently there was a Loner killing his men without even the use of a firearm. With a sigh he gather his gear, better to handel this in person. ______________________________________________________
The Bandit follow the ever growing trail of bodies, most had some kind of stab wound to the face or neck, a blades men perhaps. Eventually he came to the the culprit, a rather large man pulling a knife from the eye socket of a rookie bandit.
Shade pulled out one of his Colts from his belt; this seemed overly easy ,he had hope for more of a challenge. Still better to end such a nuisance here before it grew out of control. He cocked his weapon as he lined up his shot then pull the the trigger...

Boris heard the click of a pistol as he retrieved one of his throwing knives. Reacting quickly, he managed to only let the shot graze his arm, leaving a small gash. He then spun around twice throwing two knives with each turn, heading directly at his assailant...

Shade dodge roll to the right, the fast, jerking movement was too much for one of his healing wounds and it tore open just as the doctor predicted. He ignored the pain as he rolled back on his feet...

Boris finished his fluid rotation by launching his kama at his assailant just as he dodged the knives. The kama wrapped around the man's leg, cutting his suit. Boris took hold of the chain and pulled, knocking the assailant off his feet and dragging him under Boris. Boris put the blade of his kama to the Man's neck and spoke in a calm voice.
"Why have you attacked me?"

The bandit was dragged off his feet and towards the lone stalker, just as the other man brought a curved blade to his neck he shoved both of this pistols under the other's chin, a stalemate. "Why have you attacked me?"
"-You've attacked and killed my men," remarked Shade, "seeing that we are both in ill positions comrade, how about we both drop our weapons?"

Boris Scoffed. "Your men attacked me first. I had no desire to kill them, nor you now, but it had been forced upon me." Boris stared with blind eyes at the man beneath him, contemplating his next step. "Agreed. Drop the pistols first and I will drop my blade."

"Now this is quite the conundrum," the assassin declared his voice smooth and even, "at the same time Comrade, one looks out for himself first in these lands...although looking is not the right term for you now is it."
Both lowered their weapons at the same time.
"Now if you'd be so kind as to allow me to stand, we can perhaps work to...rectify the issue."

"So long as you agree that we shall not fight, I shall allow you to Stand"
The bandit nodded his head and Boris stood up.
"There is no need for you nor your men to fear vengeance from me, so long as they keep to themselves."

"That might be difficult," the assassin replied, "for you see my men and I run a charity of sorts. We help to protect others from biting off more than they can chew; if they can't make it pass me or my men what hope do they have of surviving up north."
"Perhaps you would like to join us, Comrade?"

Boris laughed. "A charity you say? Ha. I see how you are, deceitful bastard." He chuckled again. "But hey, maybe it'll be fun. At the very least I can spar with some unique people. Consider me in, at least for now."

"And I'm sure you'd like the loot as well," the assassin said holding out his hand to the other , "My name Shade, leader of the Dark Valley Bandits. And what name do you have Comrade?"

"You may call me Boris. We can talk about the loot later. For now, show me your operation so I may decide if your interests are aligned with mine."

The bandit only smirked, this was going to be an interesting relationship, for however long it lasted. An outsider was useful to the Bandit leader, one whose affiliations where neutral towards other groupings. Boris might be the someone that pointed him to low hanging fruit, namely poor guarded resources ripe for the taking.
The walk towards the base was very uneventful, as was expected. Shade had his Bandits out raiding, patrolling and hunting. He'd been turning the normally chaotic and unruly Bandits into a disciplined and orderly force. Tosya had seen to putting up a barracks, so no longer would men sleep along the halls or outside the base. He'd also seen to training regiments and new patrol routs.
"I've only took over leadership a two short weeks ago," Shade explained , " before things where run quite differently, I've chaged things for the betterment of the organization."

Boris clicked his throat a few times and noted the environment around him. Small groups of bandits moved around the base with the organization one would expect of a new soldier before entering bootcamp. Boris chuckled.
"These men you have here... they seem to lack discipline. Not for lack of trying though."
Boris picked up on some conversations the nearby bandits were whispering to each other.
"Hey dude, isn't that the guy who's been killing our raiders?" "Holy shit! You're right! What the hell is the boss doing with him? Wasn't he supposed to kill him?" "Keep it down man, we don't want to screw with them. If the buff dude doesn't kill us the boss might. Come on let's stay away."
Boris chuckled again. "You have these boys scared here, Shade. I seem to have struck some fear in them myself."
