Normally I don't use the Sig but for some reason, I decided to have a crack at it and found it to be very effective gun, despite the lack of scope. I also used the Lynx, Eliminator, and a full auto Beretta.
Naturally I used the exo armor taking full advantage the new sprint ability. Combine with 2 Bubble, and 2 Snowflake and your pretty much set.

The AKSU was actually pretty damn useful in the beginning of the game, before I got my hands on the Obokan and then the G36. The PKM was awesome in Pripyat as well. The G36 basically doubled as a sniper rifle for me on many occasions, though.

I used a CS-3a suit nearly until the endgame when I switched to the fully pimped sprinting exo. As for the weapons, as soon as I grabbed a modified groza (for rate of fire) and an automatic Striker, I became unstoppable.

Sprint exoskeleton, fully modded G36, automatic Protecta and Lynx SVD for super long-range sniping.
Godly stuff.
Can't be bothered remembering and translating the artifacts, but I used the Heart of the Oasis a fair bit before giving it away to the eggheads.

The reward for that piece of shit so incredibly miserable and the artifact's properties are only slightly better.

Storm modded for accuracy, flatness, and recoil with a PSO-1, or the night-vision version depending. I carried both with me. Used a 9x18 MP5 modified for recoil and ROF as my buzzsaw, it's actually incredibly lethal. Went with it over the Protecta because of reload time, ease of finding ammunition in the field, and weight.
The Storm is absolutely amazing. It's as good or better than a G36 when modified similarly, and the ammunition is everywhere. Also interchangeable scopes ftw.

Used an AK-74 until I found an Obokan, which I pimped out at Nitro's (I never switched guns in CoP after I got the AN-94). I also stuck with the old Sunrise for quite a while (the one I salvaged from Barge's corpse) before getting a SEVA.
I also used a Striker shotgun the first time because I thought it had attitude...sadly, it wasn't very good for killing off mutants, so in my second playthrough I kept Trapper's 'Predator', which turned out to be a real godsend in Pripyat and the tunnels leading to said city.

I never found any of the shotguns to be too great, but the Predator made automatic was pretty good because the reload was fast. Or was that the Carisomethingy... Why does everyone rave about the Obokan? I really didn't like it infact. The 2-shot burst was horribly inaccurate even with a fully tweaked and repaired weapon, which left it little better off than the 74 or even the 74-2U.

Watewute? The 74 was rubbish in accuracy, the mini AK thing (AKSU/74-2U/whatever) was the staple of my armory through Zaton and some way through before I got my hands on the Obokan. Every other gun also felt like it jumped out of my hand after I got the G36. I actually found the Striker to be the best gun for the tunnels and Pripyat. But then again, I also modified it's capacity to around 50 rounds (12 ROUNDS? ARE YOU KIDDING ME LOOK AT THAT FUCKING DRUM MAG). And fuck yeah, Lynx.
In terms of suits, I kept the Sunrise before I noticed that my EDC is becoming kind of heavy, after which I got the exo from Nimble. I actually went a fair length into the tunnels to Pripyat in the exo as well, aided by a stockpile of medkits before I remembered about the closed-cycle SEVA thing.

Upgraded Obokan in CoP was my favourite gun, it was nicely accurate, and I found myself dropping zombies like a psychotic gardener attacking dandelions with garden shears. Didn't like the G36 though...it degraded too fast for my liking, and I like robust no-nonsense shooters in STALKER.

For the biggest part of the game, I relied on my beautiful Storm, occasionally throwing in the Striker to hit something which got too close. The Storm modded in favor of fire rate is a burst monster.

Go for rate of fire and be prepared to haul assloads of ammo.

I don't see the point of using Storm if you're going for ROF.
Makes a lot more sense to get a regular Groza.
