Having spent the morning searching for artifacts once again at the old mill, Mitchell had finally hit pay dirt. The sparkle of what appeared to be a Stone Flower with the hole in the wall of the two story building. However, there was a strange air disturbance between him and the artifact. Mitchell then noticed a bolt on the ground which he picked up and threw into the air anomaly. The anomaly reacted violently to the metallic object, apparently ripping it apart. Obviously one can not walk threw it without serious injury. Mitchell then notice that the hole in the wall led to a tiny room with a chute in it. Perhaps I can reach it from there, the Sergeant thought to himself. Upon entering the run down building he found the chute. What luck, thought Mitchell, the hole is large enough for me to put my arm through.
After several failed attempts he gave up on trying to nab the artifact this way. "I need it to get closer," Mitchell said aloud. He then got up and began searching for something to pull the stone flower closer. "The way this building looks I doubt theres anything left." He knew he was right, the building had been pillaged many times. Still, there had to be a way to reach his prize. He then thought that perhaps he could push it with something. However, using a long object would prove futile with that anomaly in the way, Mitchell thought. He would need something traveling at high speed, like a bullet.. "A bullet.. of course!" The Sergeant said to himself. He then retrieved his PB1 from his backpack. With careful aim at the object he fired. Mitchell then realized he might have damaged the artifact making it worthless. He ran back to the chute hole and grabbed the object.
After a thorough inspection of the stone flower he concluded that it couldn't be that badly damaged. But, before he could stash it into his backpack he felt the muzzle of an AKS-74u press up against the back of his head. "Hands up." said a voice from behind. Mitchell obeyed the commands. "Good, now stand up and turn around." After doing so Mitchell found out his capture was a bandit who was wielding the rifle in one hand and a shovel in the other. He quickly saw the man's arrogance and made his move. Mitchell wrapped his left arm around the bandit's rifle upon which it fired missing him. He quickly pulled out his combat knife and struck the bandit in the chest; piercing the heart. The bandit let out a gasp for air. Realizing that his knife was stuck, Mitchell placed his foot on the chest of the bandit and thrust the body of his blade. Not only did recover the artifact but now he had acquired the bandit's weapons which turned out to be an AKS-74u, a Makarov PM, and a few bandages. He might just be able to pay off the repairs yet.
