Giovanni took the guns from Shade without realizing what they were, but the bandit was gone before he could react. "Wait! Shade!" Giovanni yelled, "Ima scared of guns!" but it was too late and Shade had already left to meet the mercenaries.
"Going alone to deal with these assholes, hmm Shade? Well, make sure you clean up afterwards." Lilith said to Shade as he walked away. She then waited till he was out of earshot. "Hmph, thinks he is the 'leader,' we're the ones who hired him."
"Now, now, Lilith, he is more experiences in this area than us." Yorick scolded Lilith, "Yes, he may currently be under our employment, but those men do not know that. As for now, we wait. Hopefully those men do not turn hostile, the longer we wait, the longer my research waits, and you know I cannot have that."

A few awkward moments of silences passed before the leader of the restless mercenaries spoke. From the way he talked to the way he acted Shade could gather that the Merc was easy going and rather chatty. The colourful merc showed no outward hostilities to the bandit or his men that was not to say that Tosya trusted him. The assassin had little trust in anyone due to his line of work and sometimes few into fits of paranoia.
“I didn't know where you stand with loners and wanted to clear any first impressions,” Shade shrugged ignoring part of the question, “your egg heads need not worry we’re head to the north, far away from their little bunker.”
Shade looked out at Giovanni, who Karc was pointing at.
“Pulled him from a huge pack of dogs in the Garbage after he tried to pet one,” the bandit cleared his throat then continued, “said that he was looking for his father, clearly he was never informed about the zone.”

“Pulled him from a huge pack of dogs in the Garbage after he tried to pet one,” the bandit cleared his throat then continued, “said that he was looking for his father, clearly he was never informed about the zone.”
Karc grinned at the absurdity of hearing about Giovanni trying to pet one the zone's wild animals.
"Clearly, and he doesn't carry a weapon, he's either delusional or an idiot." Karc said, with a shrug. It wasn't really his interest, "So he isn't a hostage than, from a distance it looked suspicious."
Looking back to the group waiting outside the fence Karc pointed to the other two non bandits, "What about those two, that little one looks a little twitchy."
After a moments pause he also asked, "So how far north a you going? You might want to take some proper guards if your planning on going further than The army warehouses, with Monolith troops crawling all over the area."

Ibrahim was walking between the lab building, atop of which were the leaders of the groups, and the gates, where the tension seemed to disappear and the Mercs weren't really concentrating on the bandit-loner group anymore. Ibrahim came up to the gates and looked over at the Agroprom group. The bandits were talking among themselves, a girl was talking to one of the loners and the last loner, who was holding the bandit leader's weapons, didn't seem to know what to do and seemed to be nervous holding the guns. "A very, very strange group" Ibrahim thought to himself "I don't think anything could make that group even more strange" Then Ibrahim made his way back towards the lab. He looked up and watched for a minute how his leader was talking to the bandit. They both seemed cool and sensible, not something unusual for Karc. After that Ibrahim didn't find anything better to do for himself than check his gear, which he did more than ever whilst guarding this barren piece of land as there was nothing else to do, apart from the regular zombie sweeps.

“The kid’s a mix of both, I just wish he would stop rambling about food and making friends,” grunted the assassin crossing his arms, “the girl’s a viper, good person to have by your side in a firefight or mutant attack, just over the top with her kills and a bit of a necrophile.”
“The old man is some kind of researcher, apparently whatever he is studying does not sit well with the scientist here,” said Shade, “has some connections with the boss in Dark Valley. I won’t say no to more experienced guns joining up, we’re heading to Zaton.”

"And he's looking for his father, interesting." Karc said thinking of how he could possibly manipulate that or use it to his advantage.
"A necrophile huh, well it takes all sorts..." He commented unsure what to make of Lilith.
"As for accompanying a researcher, could be worthwhile, that and Zaton is still more or less no mans land." Karc added having been informed by Schwarz from when he had been there scouting the area, "Our shift ends in," Checking his PDA for the time, "nearly three hours, I'll meet you in the Army Warehouses with Ibrahim and maybe another or on the way there depending on which path you take."
"Well with that said, if you have anything to sell and need to buy something, you the boy and the girl can do so, if the old man is at odds with the lab boys here, they'll consider him a spy, either way you'll need to remain unarmed all of you, until you leave that is." Karc said motioning towards the ladder, indicating that their conversation was finished.
Waiting until the bandit had moved on Karc radioed into the Merc HQ in Limansk, informing them of his intentions to observe and capture anything of interest in regards to the research that Yorick intended to commence in Zaton.
After about a minute an all clear came back, "Ibrahim please join me." He called over the side of the lab.

Ibrahim pulled out both of the knives he kept in each of his boots and checked their sharpness. They had to be maximally sharp for maximum efficiency, if not it might mean death. With them checked, he pulled out the large blade he kept on his belt and did the same check. After that it was his favorite rifle, which was one of the only things he loved in this world, now that his parents were gone. The Galil saved his ass many a time, so he felt it to be his duty to keep it in pristine condition. He kept the ACOG scope in a large pocket on the chest of his Merc vest and attached it only when shooting for distance, at other times his shot was precise and deadly. He made sure the silencer was properly fixed and then hung the rifle back on his shoulder. After that did his final check of the Makarov. Everything was in great condition, because Ibrahim loved all of his weapons and groomed them every time he got a chance. When he looked back he saw that the bandit leader was climbing down to ground and heard the voice of his commander Karc. "Ibrahim, please join me" Walking up to the lab Ibrahim asked the SEVA dressed bandit "Everything fine?" to which a nod was a reply. Then the Merc climbed up the way the bandit just climbed down and faced his leader.

Shade made his way back to his group, and took back his firearms from Giovanni.
“Alright, there has been a slight change of plans,” said the bandit leader, “we are going to the Military warehouses, the mercs have agreed to send some men up there to meet us.”
The lower ranked bandits looked at each other for a moment before one of the braver ones piped up.
“But boss what about those Penumbras that Freedom’s got, you don’t see em’ to your dead.”
“Freedom’s stealth team won’t be an issue,” the black haired leader responded in un-urgent way, “we’re not going to stay long.”
“Now let’s move out before we wear out our welcome here,” said Shade giving his guns a look over, “…hmm looked like the safeties where off, well at less you didn’t shoot anyone Giovanni.”
And with that they left Yantar and entered the Red Forest, they stayed to the main path and luckily ran into no mutants.
Later on they had just left the Red Forest and where now at the entrance to the Army warehouses, and there they waited for the mercenaries. The bandits save for Shade stood uneasy waiting for any kind of movement in the underbrush. Off in the distance Shade could see a vague dot moving in one of the guard tower inside the freedom compound. Undoubtedly a sniper and the head bandit bet a thousand rubles that he had them in his sites. Still no cause for alarm, so long as they didn’t go too far into Freedom territory things would not escalate.

"Ah good," He started looking the Merc in the eyes, "it would seem our commander wants to know about this research that the old man is conducting, that and if we can find something of interest for the egg heads here it'll put us in a good position with our leaders."
Pacing a few steps he turned, and continued "I want you to join me and maybe one more if you can think of someone, once our shift here ends in just under three hours we'll depart for the old warehouses and join up there. From there we will observe all possible research and if need be acquire a copy for our own means. Secondary assignment is to scout for possible expansion."
Pausing to think of what Shade had told him about loners in the group, "It would seem we have a pacifist amongst them, that boy he could be a liability since he won't be likely to fight. The other two can handle themselves. But with all the creatures I've heard about up there I'd hope so."
Spinning to face Ibrahim and added, "Any questions?"

"Any questions?" Ibrahim took out his aviator glasses from his chest pocket and slowly put them on. Then he slowly ran his hand through his hair, which he always done when he was thinking. Finally, an opportunity to get out of this hole and go up North, where he always wanted to go, but didn't dare do on his own. And whom of the Mercs shall he ask to join them. That was a question he wanted to ask. "I've got just one question" "Go ahead" "Will we need a sniper?" Ibrahim had one Merc in mind who usually did sniper duty here with his SVU and was one of the best shots Ibrahim has seen.

"Will we need a sniper?" Ibrahim asked.
Karc smiled at the idea, "It didn't cross my mind, but I think we just might. Fill him in, and be ready to leave when our shift ends." He said.
"Do another sweep of the area, take half the men." Karc ordered.
He headed into the bunker packing his gear, it had been a dull shift and this trip was the going to prove interesting hopefully.
(Several hours later.)
The three mercenaries passed through through the Wild Territories and Rostok with little to note of the trip, making their way into the Army Warehouses with the afternoon slowly approaching.
Taking out his PDA he scanned the area to pick up Shade's PDA, after a few seconds a small glowing node indicated the the bandits location. With a motion of his hand they moved towards the bandits camp.
Within minutes they could see them, slowing his pace so he could get in one last piece of advice to the others, "Remember, if you can get away with it, don't hesitate to take out one or two of these bandits if they get in our way, make sure you aren't seen, they'll be eying up your gear as soon as we arrive." He said quietly, before speaking in a friendlier tone to the larger group.
"Made it safe and sound I see. You lead, we'll cover the rear." He said, waiting for the group to make a move.

Giovanni stared at Shade blankly, slowly going pale. "Th-The safety was... *gulp* off?" He then fainted, his fear of weapons becoming too great knowing that the guns could have fired at any time.
"Sending some of their troops to meet us?" Yorick contemplated. "What would be the reason for that? I have no desire to hire them as escorts in addition to you. This all seems quite odd. I would suggest we all be cautious, I don't trust their motives." Yorick was very worried, more for his research than his safety. He made a note to keep better watch on his notes. If someone took a copy of his life's work without permission, especially before completion, there would be hell to pay.
Lilith sighed. "More 'big tough men' coming to slow us down? The people here in the zone are more annoying than the mutants," She said sarcastically. She looked over at Yorick and noted that she had never seen him so on edge in her life. Being the only man she respected, she would defend him and his research ruthlessly, caring not for who else she hurt or killed in th process.

“Our ‘friends’ have just arrived,” said the black clad assassin sarcastically as his PDA picked up the Merc’s signal, “I care little of what becomes of them, if anyone wants to try to take a few out along our trip, go right ahead just do so discreetly .”
It would be interesting to see how refined the little viper’s skills where, when she could do anything so long as she was not seen or heard. The assassin himself would not join in unless one of the mercs attack him, although unlikely it was still a possibility. The old man was very protective of his research but just how far would he go to keep it out of the greedy hands of the mercenaries and their shadowy leader. Shade was sure that the merc’s leader Karc had given his men a similar order, as the bandit and mercenary factions had a very frayed relationship. Working together sometime and stabbing each other in the back other times. Any kind of dispute or incident would tip a very fragile balance with the groups, a mental chess game was about to begin between the leaders of the two squads.
"Made it safe and sound I see. You lead, we'll cover the rear." Said the leader of the mercenaries as they approached the group.
“My men are too green to be in front,” said Shade wanting to have some insurance, “send up one or two gunners, besides they’ll have more action in the front.”
The request was simple and innocent enough, as well as part truth. If Karc agreed to this then it would help the bandit keep a better eye on the mercenaries, and help to keep any killing to a minimal for both sides.

((We should set an order for our posting, divide the groups, ie. myself, bpm, milch, nuke, repeat.))
“My men are too green to be in front,” said Shade wanting to have some insurance, “send up one or two gunners, besides they’ll have more action in the front.”
Karc hesitated, he didn't want to be out of ear shot of his comrades. Before hastily agreeing.
"Okay, that's fine. Ibrahim," he said, lowering his voice and speaking quickly, showing him a number on his PDA, "Keep that channel open for private communications, keep it down when you speak too."
"You two take the rear and watch your backs, all sorts of nasty things out there. I'll lead I know a good path that should be safe for at least a few miles, but you never know." He said, before looking to the merc with the SVU, make sure you take the high ground if possible."
Looking over the group and assessing who carried what, before suggesting to Shade.
"Put the boy and the old man in the middle, form a diamond shape around them, keep 5 paces apart, if we get attacked move closer to them forming a ring around them. We can move faster like this. We'll avoid the roads once we get to Red Forest, mutants are not as dangerous as a patrol of Monolith and hopefully we'll make it to a safe area I know about, it's about," Pausing and checking his PDA map, "6 kms or about... three and a half miles, maybe more. Shouldn't take more than a few hours as long as we stick to a good pace."
"Shall we?" He said to Shade, waiting for the bandits leader to make his decision and possibly arrange his group.

“Indeed, “said the bandit leader although he hoped to have the mercs broken up more this would have to do. He did not like the fact that the doctor was surrounded by the Mercenaries, despite his age Yorick could hold his own, and should the mercs go back on the arrangement a rather nasty surprise. If the Scientist in Yantar had even half the balls of the doctor then they would not
“Alright two in front of the doctor the rest keep to the sides. Keep on guard, bloodsuckers will be the least of your problems,” said shade to his men before addressing Lilith, “Girl I want you infort with me and the merc.”
With that the two groups moved out the tension in the air hung like a wet blanket, fulled by paranoia, greed, and simple blood lust and fear. Although Karc had said that the path they where on was relatively safe, things in the zone change. During their hike the assassin had been keeping an eye out for any sign of trouble.
"Hold up," Shade signaled as he knelt down, to inspect a set of tracks. He had seen older bloodsucker tracks but this was something more.
"Chimera, prints are fresh," said the bandit getting back up, "might still be in the area."
