Ibrahim removed his shades in order to have clearer sight of things as they were about to enter possibly one of the most dangerous areas of the Zone. Then Ibrahim hurried to take up a place behind the doctor in the diamond formation as Karc suggested, while his leader stuck to the left of the doctor.
((correct me with those positions if I'm wrong and you had something else in mind))
Shade turned to Lilith and was saying something to her and before they both turned around, Karc nodded to Ibrahim indicating that he'd chose his position well. Then when Lilith and Shade completed the diamond the bandit suggested that they get a move on. The tension was high. Everyone was ready to turn on each other like animals if the chance ever presented itself. Whilst walking down the path which Karc suggested, everyone who was of relative experience in the Zone noticed some bloodsucker trails, but they were not to be of much concern, as they were old and the bloodsuckers would've probably left by then. But then a real threat put everyone on edge. The bandit leader spotted fresh Chimera tracks. Vicious, fast and deadly - a Chimera would be a deadly obstacle on their path to the North. Ibrahim started to look around him, the forest in the distance looked like a dark red shadow beckoning him to join it; despite himself he felt a little fear at the thought of having to walk its dark sun-starved paths, even with a group as large and skilled as his. Suddenly, he heard a faint echoing burst of assault rifle fire, followed by an unearthly roar and a flight of crows flapping up in alarm from an area of trees not far from the outskirts of the forest. "Sounds like someone has found our Chimera." Another burst of gunfire and a pained roar punctuated their otherwise silent surroundings. "Seems like they're giving it a run for its money too, I think we should investigate - they might need our help"

They had been tracking the beast for hours, following the winding tracks through the military warehouses and into the red forest. They had lost their way for a while, wandering along the multitudinous paths of the red forest and jumping at every little noise they heard under those crimson boughs. It was then the dark shadow had leaped roaring out of the bushes, raking its claws through Tiberius' chest before disappearing back into the shadowy woods; they'd tried to stop Tiberius' bleeding, but when they saw the damage done to his chest they gave up hope - choosing instead to accord to his wishes and give him a merciful bullet to the temple.
That had been two hours ago - they'd seen neither hide nor hair of their quarry since that encounter and Sejanus was getting uneasy, this mutant had taken three of his men already and he wasn't about to let it take a fourth. He had entered the zone a week before with a group of ten of his best men, two had been killed by duty snipers as they made their way through the Rostok area and they had lost another to a bloodsucker attack in the valley leading to the army warehouses; their medic had been taken over by a controller in the army warehouses and they had been forced to kill him as he turned on them, his brain running from his ears as his torso was ripped apart by their bullets. Then, when they were resting for the night in a seemingly safe abandoned farm the monster had struck - dragging Vitalius screaming into the night the sounds of his slaughter echoing through the valley. Come morning Sejanus took his remaining men and followed the blood trail to where the remains of his comrade lay, a barely recognizable mess of flesh and bone with only a few scraps of purple cloth and combat armour hanging from them. After they had given Vitalius his last rights, laid coins on what was left of his eyes for the ferryman and prayed to Pluto for his safe journey to the underworld they swore to avenge his death, starting to track the monster through the army warehouses and losing yet another man.
Sejanus was snapped out of his reverie by a loud crack as something moved in the bushes bordering the clearing. He instantly raised his SCAR and signalled for his men to assemble into a defensive square. He looked around him, his golden gaze raking the clearing. The bushes rustled again and he fired a shot into them; something squeaked and a small mutated rat creature ran out of the bushes and across the clearing. Quick as a flash, a grey shadow pounced on it, tearing at it with its claws ferociously. This was the first time Sejanus had seen his quarry up close - shaggy grey fur covered its body from head to toe, it had the lithe shape of a lynx but he could see heavy muscles below the skin and had no doubt that it could rip him apart with ease. It's feet ended in vicious claws, and it had two heads situated next to each other - the largest head was the head of what looked like an old man, it's jaw hanging open lopsidedly, filled with viciously sharp teeth. The other smaller one was the head of a leopard, it's mouth dripping a virulent green liquid that seared the ground it dripped on. It reminded him of one of the mythological Chimeras his father used to tell him about when he was young.
"Praetorians, fire at will." Sejanus said, unloading a whole clip into the beast and loading another one. These bullets seemed nothing more than an annoyance to the Chimera as it roared at them and pounced on Lucius, tearing his arm off as he hopelessly tried to fend it off it then proceeded to rip his throat out, cutting off his screams. "Aim for it's heads" Sejanus shouted as he realized that the monster's body was healing unnaturally fast. This seemed to enrage the Chimera even more, it let out a pained roar and lunged at Gaius, it's smaller head spitting corrosive acid at the veteran's face, melting through the skin and blinding him as he fell to the floor writhing in pain, the monster dispatched him quickly. Realizing that the monster was not going to fall easily, Sejanus threw down his rifle and drew his sword, it was a beautiful weapon - the steel glowed a faint red, and the rubies in its pommel glowed in the few rays of sun that were penetrating into the clearing; Sejanus twirled it once, marvelling as always at the lightness of the long blade. He then flexed his Eagle's Talon and levelled the sword at the beast, taking a duellist's stance and shouting to his last man. "Distract it for me brother." The beast looked at Sejanus with hungry yellow eyes, making horrible gurgling growling sounds. Suddenly his last Praetorian shouted at it and fired a shot into its torso, the Chimera turned to the mercenary, roaring and Sejanus charged at it while it was distracted and drove his sword into the smaller of it's two heads. The mutant let out a horrible high pitched wail and thrashed from side to side, wrenching the sword from Sejanus' grasp and sending him flying across the clearing. The breath was knocked from his lungs as he hit the ground and his vision darkened for a moment, then he shook his head and looked to where the Chimera stood roaring and thrashing, his family sword still embedded in its second neck, it stopped suddenly and looked over to him it's lambent eyes gazing at him with new-found interest.
His last man charged at it raising his gladius and shouting, the beast paid him no mind - lazily flicking it's front leg and kicking him half way across the clearing to lie crumpled against a tree. The beast charged towards Sejanus and landed on him, winding him for a second time. Its jaws reached down to his face snapping and drooling, he stabbed his talon into its neck but that just enraged it further, it slashed it's claw across his face, making a huge gash from eye to lip. It was all he could do to hold its teeth away from his face. "Apollo, lord of the sun, hear me in my time of need. Save me now and i will be forever your champion." Sejanus prayed, desperate for something, anything to help him. Suddenly a deafening bang sounded and the Chimera turned around, its weight leaving his chest. He saw shadowy figures appear at the edge of the clearing and smiled with what small amount of relief he could muster. Apollo, it seemed, had heard his prayer.
Good post, but in future try to break it up a little by spacing the paragraphs.

Sejanus' prayers had been heard, but not by his Apollo. A monolithian had been watching their exploits with the chimera, silently laughing as the beast took down man after man. Finally, he saw an opportunity. What appeared to be their leader began to pray for help, and he decided that a prayer should be answered by the monolith. Grenades exploded around his men as the chimera continued to rage. Between the shrapnel you could see a short man in monolith armor chucking grenades at them. The monolith had heard their prayer, and sent the cleansing fire of Pyre. He dashed between the trees laughing crazily as Sejanus and his men were caught between his explosive onslaught and the chimera.
"Burn! Be cleansed! The monolith demands it!" Pyre screamed out at the group as he continued his onslaught, "The unclean shall be removed!"
Meanwhile, at the group traveling:
Yorick looked at Ibraham and glared, "We will not investigate. This is the zone, not some pansy-ass land of sharing and caring. We will move on to the designated site. Fighting a chimera would be dangerous and unnecessary." He then turned to Lilith, speaking quietly, "If they cause a problem, you have my permission to... enjoy yourself..." He then turned to Shade. "Shade, let's get a move on. I don't want to stick around to see if that beast wants desert."
"Yes, Uncle dearest," Lilith grinned wickedly, "It would be my pleasure." She turned to look at the mercenaries, sizing them up. Most of them would not be a problem, but this Ibraham and Karc might pose a challenge. She looked forward to a disturbance so that she may enjoy her greatest hobby.
Giovanni at this point was as pale as a ghost. "NO! NO! NO! I DONT WANT TO FIGHT! KEEP THE MEANIE CHIMERA AWAY FROM ME!" He then grabbed onto Shade. "Shade! Shade! Protect me from the big bad mutants! They are scary and I want to go home!" Giovanni then proceeded to faint.
"Shade! Get one of your bandits here to carry this man." Yorick ordered, "He may prove valuable in the future."

"You'd do well to watch your tone, old man." Karc said venomously, "If we simply ignore that beast it will track us if it isn't dealt with. So I hope we don't regret moving." He didn't see what he said to his niece, but her grin gave Karc an idea of what he said.
Try all you want dearie... He thought guessing that she would attempt to kill the mercs in the group.
Sighing as Giovanni fainted he muttered, a curse. "Shade! Get one of your bandits here to carry this man." Yorick ordered, "He may prove valuable in the future."
"Never mind I will." Karc said as he hefted the small man on his shoulder and took out his Colt, unscrewing the silencer, if this man was going faint at every sign of finger he could be close to loud gunfire. "He'll be useful if we leave him behind with two holes in his legs," Karc muttered "than we won't have to worry about mutants following us."
Explosions from grenades echoed through the area, making the group uneasy, "Fucking ridiculous, whoever that is is going to get eaten if they don't shut up. Keep an eye in that direction who knows what will come from there."

“I highly doubt that the beast will come after us,” Shade pulled the now unconscious Italian off of his waist, “so long as we are gone by the time it finish its first meal.”
The bandit did not miss the look Lilith gave Karc, as a grin formed on the assassin’s face. So very egger this one, any fight that might come of this would be more even then the merc would think. Even more so due to the old man and the girl being his employers, Shade would have to side with them over the mercs.
“Perhaps Merc, you should be the one minding his tone,” said the head bandit although he did not entirely show it he made ready for a fight, “The good doctor and his assists are under my protection and should be afforded the upmost respect, you truly do not want to force my hand.”
This was just a warning, in truth Shade did not want to waste his rescores in a fight, but if anything should befall either Yorick or the girl he would be sure to make Karc and his men pay in kind. And Shade would make sure that the Merc would regret ever coming along should things come to that.
“Let the humanitarian carry the boy,” said the bandit indicating Ibraham, “if he wants to help others so badly he can do so by carrying the kid. Now let’s move the longer we stay the sooner the chimera gets to hunting.”

Bandits - greedy, uncaring, cowardly. That was Ibrahim's view of the faction in general, but he hoped that Shade wasn't like that as his first impression was very different to that of the others he met. But this seemed to prove the Merc's views otherwise. Of course he was worried about losing his men, or in the worst of cases, the Doctor, but Ibrahim could bet all his money, that if it was the bandit who was fighting the Chimera, he wouldn't have minded a helping hand.
"Humanitarian..." grunted Ibrahim to himself. The Chechen Merc's primary hopes were that the monster would pick off some of the weaker bandits and only the secondary cause was that of help. Another grenade exploded over where the fight was happening. Another shriek. Another gunshot. They were wasting time. The Chimera was probably injured. Worn down. All they had to do was finish it off and then the rescuee would owe them big. More people - more security, right? On the other hand, the more people - the slower they would move and the harder it would be to maneuver.
Ibrahim's last hope was Karc, the only person in the commandment whom he truly respected, whom he felt was his mentor. Ibrahim looked at his leader and was greeted with the mask-covered helmet. The skull was staring at Ibrahim, but were the eyes behind it? Was Karc having doubts, was he prepared to help, was he prepared to leave those people for dead? The dark glass of the Sphere helm hid everything from the Chechen's eyes. It was his own decision to make. Stay with the group and let his conscience drill his brain, or to save those people, or perhaps die trying.
After the final look at everyone in the group, being met with hostile stares. Ibrahim made his choice. He walked slightly ahead and then turned to Karc and Shade and said "I don't know how about you, but I'm going there to help. I am not going to just walk by, listening to screams of death and suffering. I know this is the Zone and if you're weak, you're dead meat, but I won't be able to feel human if I let them die, or not even attempt to help. I don't know about you, but I've made my mind up. I'd rather be human" After that Ibrahim turned and began to jog towards the fight, cocking his Galil as he did so, without turning to look back.

“If that was one of my men,” mocked the assassin as he watched the merc run into the woods, “I would have shot him for insubordination.”
Those words where the trigger that sent one of the other mercenaries over the edge, as the sniper charged forth intent on pummeling Shade to a pulp with his fists. Taken slightly off guard as it was not the one he expected to be attacked by yet still seamlessly sidestepped the attacker.
“You bastard,” yelled the Merc as the bandit effortlessly dodged his attacks,” I’ll kill you, I’ll choke you will your own guts.”
Turning on his heels Shade quickly pulled off his long coat and then threw it at the face of the angry stalker. As the man ripped the coat off, the bandit maneuvered behind the Merc kicking out his legs and pinning one of the mercenary’s arms behind his back. Before sending him to the ground still struggling, an angry illogical brawl was nothing that someone trained KGB could not handle. By this time all the members of the groups had their weapons drawn.
“Now gentlemen,” said Shade smoothly the merc in his iron hold sill squirmed trying to get free with his mouth full of mud, “there is no need for violence, and childish brawls, can’t we work this out like logical human beings?”
“Certainly there must be away to work this out,” continued the bandit with eyes like ice, “without making enemies of each other.”
Although addressed to the groups as a whole, the assassin was stating to Karc directly, telling him that is was time for him to make his next move in the chess battle. Things could be defused if the other so wanted. But just how much where both willing to risk in this gambit.

"There certainly is," Karc replied, looking through his PDA "though it would seem that for now we must part ways. But don't worry, I'm sure I'll see you again." He said his voice was flat and neutral. Dropping Giovanni to the ground from his shoulder the Italian landed with a thud, the young man, startled let out a surprised cry, and a wail about his ribs but Karc had already moved away, pulling the Merc from Shade's grasp and pushing him towards where Ibrahim had gone. "We'll deal with this maniac quickly, our comrades need our help, go." Karc ordered, walking briskly he scrolled through the nearby contacts, marking Giovanni's own PDA to be tracked before sending a message to Schwarz. Find out what you can on this stalker, also his father in the the zone, I want to know what happened to him, fast. In addition, track this kid's movements and keep me posted.
Karc Sending it off a reply came back shortly confirming his orders. Taking off after the other two he came upon one Merc, clearly taken down by the Chimera, the slightly unusual outfit made Karc have second doubts about lending his help after all, we're these men even part of the Mercenary faction or just outside Mercs looking for something in the zone and Lady Luck had abandoned them? Another explosion nearby jolted Karc into action. Running directly for where he guessed the last explosion was he saw another Merc down, donning the same garb. A deep, bellowing roar from the Chimera made Karc glance around, he'd never killed a Chimera and wanted make it a little more exciting. Slinging his SCAR L over his shoulder he drew his BFR, spinning the chamber checking to see if it was fully loaded. Nodding in approval he moved towards the roar, heart pounding. A sound from behind made him swing around, he saw something small and round fell nearby, "Grenade!" He shouted involuntarily throwing himself away from it. The explosion rocked the ground nearby making Karc roll away dragging himself up he ringing, he could just make out someone running through the forest, lining up the movement and tracking ahead of it he fired, the round smashed into a tree missing the target's head by mere inches, but the shrapnel exploding off the tree made the person look around in shock, lining up a second shot he fired slightly higher, hitting a large branch, making it collapse on the target. Another roar louder and closer made Karc spin around to face it, he couldn't see the Chimera but it was closer now. Hopefully the others were still alive but he couldn't think about that currently. ((Someone else can post I'll finish this in another post))

As Ibrahim ran towards the fight, he noticed that his commander and the other Merc have joined him. He felt relieved that they chose to come with him, rather than accompany bandits. Then the fighting itself came into view. A Chimera was pinning down a man dressed rather strangely for the mercenary faction and his three comrades didn't show any signs of movement, so supposedly they were dead, or unconscious. The Chechen was ahead of his comrades when suddenly an explosion rang out behind him. He dropped to the ground and a silhouette ran past him between the bushes and trees. Two gunshots came from where his fellow Mercs would have been and the bullets hit the trees near the silhouette. But Ibrahim became distracted by that and forgot for a moment about the Chimera.
The beast roared and leaped at Ibrahim. He quickly rolled away so it landed only a meter away. He grabbed his PMm and pulled the trigger. A silent burst came out and hit the monster in the shoulder and leg. "Having an auto-fire pistol comes in handy" Ibrahim thought to himself as he tried to get up, but the Chimera smashed him with it's paw and the poor Chechen flew into a tree, whacking his head against it. Ibrahim could feel blood running down the side of his head and his face. The beast slowly walked up directly to him so they were face to face.
"This is it. I guess this is what I deserve for being soft in the Zone" Ibrahim thought as the Chimera opened it's jaws and was moving closer towards his face. The sword sticking out of the other head got caught onto one of Ibrahim's pockets and the wound opened up more. The acid gland was penetrated by the sword and when the passage for it opened up it leaked out eroding away on the Merc's suit. The suit's anti-acid protection wasn't going to live for much longer. Ibrahim prayed to Our Lord and Saviour Sidorovich that he would die before having to suffer burning of his flesh. He let out a loud hiss as a drop of acid fell onto his hand. Then suddenly a bullet hit the ground by the Chimera's paw and then one hit the paw itself. It was a sniper rifle of his comrade mercenary. The Chimera pounced towards them.
Ibrahim had just about enough time to get up before he heard more rapid gunfire. He wiped the blood off his face, although it soon came back. Then he saw one of the men he was saving run towards the fight. Once again Ibrahim couldn't help but wonder who they were. Gold plated armor and eagles all over it. Then the Chechen turned towards the Chimera and also joined the battle.
Chimera's have acid?

“Oh we will merc, I can guarantee you that,” said Shade as he watched the blue clad stalkers run off into the direction of the fighting , “ the fools will be enough to keep the mutant occupied.”
The bandit then kneelt down beside the small Italian, patting the man’s face trying to wake him with no avail. Shade mutter to himself about weak, and pathetic loners as he retrieved a small canteen from his pack. Unscrewing the lid he poured the water on to Giovanni’s face.
“Now that everyone is with us again, we move,” ordered the bandit standing and dusting himself off, “The merc has put us behind schedule long enough.”
A few hours had passed and they found their way to the main path, although Karc had shown a safer path Shade and the others did not know it and decided that it was best to follow the well-known. It was dark by the time they reach the old ranger station in the red forest. Long ago Freedom and Duty had men stationed here but after the first major exodus to the center no longer did so. After the stalker named Forester vanished few ever came here, save for the few travelers that found themselves in this area at night. The outpost even after it’s abandonment by stalker served as a safe haven that was easily defended.
The Assassin was troubled as he sat in the main tower with the rest, his mind kept going back to Karc putting something into his PDA. His paranoia had always kept from harm in the past and he knew not to ignore it. Pulling out his PDA he ran a debug program on it looking for tracers, finding none did little to satisfy his suspicion. He barked at each of his men and searched their devices as well; yet again he turned up empty handed. That only left the PDAs of the Doctor, Lilith and the loner.
“Yorick, the actions of the mercenary trouble me,” called the assassin over to the older man, “, there is a high possibility that he put a tracer on someone’s PDA, allow me to see your and your assistant’s device. Giovanni I will need to see yours as well. ”
((Seeing as this is going in two different directions why don't the guys who are fighting the Chimera start a new thread? Also Chimera's don't have acid at lest in the games. I've kill enough in CoP and SoC's OL mod to know.))

Water fell on Giovanni's unconscious face. He choked for a second and woke up. "Help! Help! I'm drowning!" He then realized where he was and looked over at Shade, "Hey Shade, what happened? and why did you wake me up? I was having a wonderful dream about pasta!"
He quickly reclaimed himself and the group moved on.
After a while Shade asked to see Giovanni's, Yorick's, and Lilith's PDA.
Yorick stopped for a minute, looks of anger, disgust, dread, and fear filled his face. He then calmed himself down. "Bastards... they must be after my research." He handed Shade his PDA and watched as Shade checked it, making sure that the bandit did not attempt to steal his secrets. Of course, Yorick would never store his research on such an easily traceable device, and he did trust Shade not to inspect his life's work, but safety was safety.
Yorick turned to Lilith after Shade had finished with his PDA, "Dear, let him check your PDA. I don't want those mercenaries following us. You as well Giovanni, unless you plan to leave us here."
Lilith and Giovanni both did as was asked of them. Lilith had a slight look of suspicion about Shade, but realized that it was far more likely he was being true about his suspicions.
Giovanni handed his PDA over. "Maybe they just wanted to come back and have pasta with us? I make a mean dish!"
Yorick would have laughed, had it not been for his paranoia. "Giovanni, people here do not wish to make friends. They wish to make money and to kill. Especially mercenaries. If they did track any of us, I can assure you it was not for a pasta dinner."
Yorick thought for a second, "Lilith dear, you have my permission to shoot those mercenaries or anyone that seems to be allied with them on sight. Shade, I would expect this of you as well, granted they were posing a threat to either us or my research."
((P.S. nobody would know about Yorick's research except for Lilith as he is very protective and paranoid with regards to it. His PDA would only contain a fake file of research that appears somewhat normal))

Shade finished looking over the doctor’s and Lilith PDAs as both looking over his shoulder like he was going to steel gold from them. “Relax doctor I have no need for your research or any information on your PDA,” said the bandit giving the device back, “I am no man of science and my base desires and need all meet.”
He took the loner’s device and ran the debug program, after a few seconds he smirked. The light from the PDA made his smile look even more dastardly.
“The fools seem to think that you’re important boy,” said the bandit leering “or that you could be used to track us either way they will be here soon.”
“As a piece of advice doctor, it is not wise to make enemies with the mercs,” the assassin continued on, “they will not stop until they have the information they want, you can kill as many as you can but there will always be more.”
“I amuse you have so kind of fake date that we can use to bait them,” Shade said going to the window watching the darkness,
“we can orchestrate a trap but we will need to keep a few alive to report back to their boss…unless you feel that it is better to kill every one of them you see.”

Yorick was visibly distraught, his paranoia growing larger by the second. "Damn it, I knew they wanted something, and of course they tracked Giovanni here. He would be the least likely to find a trace on his equipment." Yorick sighed and thought for a moment. "Hmm, fake data. Let's see here... Aha! some old research from my younger years, already published and unsuspecting. Just a few small updates to make it seem current... There we go. Have them 'discover' this research. Hopefully they will take it as true and decide that the information is unimportant."
Giovanni thought for a second. "Hey, maybe they just wanted to be able to find me for some pizza or pasta later!"
"Giovanni, they could have just sent you a message if that was the case. Tracking someone's PDA is much more devious. Although, you do not seem to understand that concept." Lilith scoffed at Giovanni's ignorance. Normally she wouldn't care, but things were different when her uncle was involved.
Giovanni looked saddened. "But why would they want to be like that? It is much easier to just be friends!"
Lilith sighed once more, but was also somehow delighted by his complete innocence. "I will explain this only one more time Giovanni. My uncle, Yorick, is a man of science. He does research. Research that is unorthodox to say the least, but also extremely valuable to the right people. Mercenaries want money. Logical conclusion is that tracking the weakest link in the party, you, lets them more easily spy on us so that they may steal and sell the results of Yorick's research. Understand now?"
Giovanni's face went slightly pale as he realized what Lilith had said was true. Some of his innocence had died this day. "But... Why..." Giovanni stumbled over his words for a while. "I don't like those people anymore! I don't want to be friends with them! Let's just see if I will ever give them pasta or pizza again!"
As they continued on Giovanni was clearly upset, most likely at the fact that people were much worse than he had liked to believe.

“Well that’s a start, you might even reach puberty ,” said the assassin walking over to the window, “hard to tell when the mercs will come, but I’m sure they aren't aware that we know they are tracking us.”
Shade continued looking out into the dark night, activating his night vision he looked for any movement. The tower gave him a good vantage point of the area allowing him to see any approach to the camp. He spotted a lone bloodsucker, creeping about the edge of the woods. With a sigh the bandit unslung his rifle and lined up the shot then pulled the trigger, the mutant’s head exploded as the round pass through its skull. Although it would have made a nice obstacle for the mercenaries the beast would also mare in the trap and Giovanni‘s pda could be used as a better warning then the bloodsucker.
“I set up Giovanni’s pda to alert us to when our guests get near, “ the bandit facing the group once more, “ when they do I’ll put on a little show by pretending to steal the research and stashing the fake info, if that does not satisfy them, then kill them.”
“For now I suggest getting as much rest as we can,” Shade cracked his neck before walking to the back of the room to address him men, “I want hour long watches set up, just because we are on the top floor does not mean that the monsters of the zone can’t get us.”
After setting up the watches Shade made himself a space propped up against the wall, his had removed his Kevlar vest and had the upper part of his suit tied at his waist. The sleeveless top showed off the tattoo he had on his arm, despite living in the zone for over a month the assassin was still clean of dirt and stench. Just because the zone had almost no civilization to speak of didn’t mean that he should let his appearance or hygiene fall into disarray. Closing his eye he began to fall asleep but still remained vigilant, his rifle was at his side but he kept a hand on one of his pistols. If anything should happen or the alarm on the Italian’s pda sounded he would be ready in a moment notice.

Giovanni disregarded Shade's comment and went right to sleep. He had a long day and was still coming to terms with the fact that people did not behave the way he thought they did.
Yorick put the finishing touches on the fake research case. "Let's see... a little more about minor mutations, a bit about radiation combined with chemicals.... that should do it." He put the fake notes in the designated spot. "There, basic findings about radiation and chemicals causing mutations in wildlife. Nothing too abstract, but easily believe for this godforsaken place. Now if you will excuse me, I could use some rest." Yorick then attempted to get some rest, but had trouble due to his paranoia.
Lilith was slightly giddy at the thought of killing these mercenaries. "I will take first watch, if that is ok of course, Sir Shade. I'm too excited to sleep now anyway." Lilith stayed up the first hour watch daydreaming about murder and glory while still keeping an eye out for the warning signs. She had borrowed Yorick's rifle for the watch, as her shotguns would prove useless at longer ranges. However her watch went by without any problems, much to her dismay. She woke up the next to watch and fell asleep easily, as the excitement has worn off.
